Title: PNut has been found
Post by: peterparker on July 05, 2010, 02:41:28 PM
Parker and I went to Wienerfest on Saturday. A little doxie got spooked when it's owner was untangling her leash with another doxie. PNut ran off. Out of the park, down the highway and in to a cornfield. It was over 30 degrees C on Saturday. We almost hit the little gal on the highway, but we knew we were approaching the park so we were driving abnormally slow. There were people chasing the pup and I assumed they had everything under control. Then it was announced later at the event that PNut had run in to a cornfield and was lost. There was a search party, and PNut remained lost. I didn't post anything as I was just heart sick and I knew there wasn't much we could do. Postings went up on the internet and people were asking me at work today what happened. I was notified by three different boards that PNut was lost. There was a search party again yesterday, and another one this morning. I was there on Sunday looking but had to work today, but was going out again after work to look.
Well this morning, she was found. She is bell trained, and came to the bell. She is very dehydrated and probably hungry and scared but safe.  Now I can catch up on my sleep.

Wow what a story! I was almost afraid to read to the end, so glad it was a happy one. I can't even imagine what her parents were going through not knowing where she was.

P'nut is home safe and sound and in good shape for being lost for 2 days.  She had a hug a dox harness on, and when she was found she was nekkid.  Her mom says no way could she get out of the harness, and Andrea Newborg, Animal Communicator felt without a doubt that someone was taking care of her.  She probably was let out to potty and bolted again.  In the search area - very large cornfield, quarry, HIGHWAY - eek......   yesterday - mid morning, she saw Mom and Dad's car and was trying to get in.  The search party saw her, approached slowly and dad plyed her with chicken and then grabbed her.  She snuggled with her sister Pretzel all the way home.

Funny story, but awesome one.... as mom and dad were going around taking down posters - the closest dog store was one town away, and they went in and noticed the poster was already down....they told them that she had been found.  The response " We know ! Our air conditioning man just called !".

The town of Thamesford Ontario was awesome and the woman who headed up the Wienerfest was involved heavily in the search.  There ARE good folks out there  :apls: :apls: :apls:
