Ivy da TERRIBLE
Awww. I always had the pupper microchipped while they were under getting spayed and neutered until Millie. My vet held an ice pack on her scruff until it was good and numb and then jabbed her. I felt sick having to do it awake, but with the numb neck, she didn't even flinch. Poor Ivy.
Does Tristan have epilepsy?
WHAT !? WHAT!? (Mrs. Costanza voice) WHAT's wrong wiff  Tris???!?!??!?!?!??!?!?
oh, and poor Ivy. (Yes, it will make you do bad things from time to time. It's a cyborg chip. Makes ya hungry all the time and you will want to climb all kinds of things you shouldn't. Yep. Blame it on the chip.
Ouch poor kids don't you hate having to do things like that with them. Les is right, That chip makes Hallie hungry too.
Is Tris doing ok??
Tris is just great, twice in the last couple of months he's been a bit off colour, shaking and trying to be sick then he has had a small epileptic fit. I thought maybe he had been sick and lost his breakfast medication but took him along to the vets just for a check up and to get his blood levels checked out again, I'll hear on Monday but it's fine, just a dose adjustment if required. The vet said his liver feels a little larger than normal but that is relatively normal for a dog who has been on long term epilepsy medication. He was such a good little boy and as usual the vet said she had never come across such a sweet little dachsie (makes you so proud doesn't it).
I had Ivy's teeth checked out to see if there was any need to have the baby teeth removed that are still there. They are causing no displacement of the permanent canine teeth so there is no rush to remove them at the moment and the vet said she is a beautiful little girl (who was also very well behaved). I was going to have her microchipped if her teeth had to be removed but as there is no imminent need the vet said it would take just one second to chip her. She was actually a perfect little angel, just one little quiet squeek as it was done. The vet was really good and accurate. I remember when Holly had hers done that the old vet had to take two tries which was much more distressing for me than Holly and Tris had his done when he had the (snip) shhhhhhhhhhhhh.
They were both most excellent patients and then were treated like royalty allllllllllll night (nothing unusual there). Tris was right back to normal after he had fitted, in fact this was disrupted by someone at the door and he had a good bark which put a stop to the fit so it was a very mild one.
Sigh..children....the biggest ouchie is the cost...nearly 200 pounds for a 15 minute trip!! Much cheaper than children though!!!
Ahhh it is always so traumatic to take them to the dreaded dachtor. Such good little ones, not surprised the vet was impressed with them! The shelter where I got Hallie and Rich and Deb's Sophie also microchipped them awake, Hallie didn't make a peep but poor Sophie cried I cuddled her a long time after. Those needles are huge! Glad to hear Tris is fine just some adjusting and things are mild. They do keep us and our bank accounts on our toes!
