Title: Dog Dreams
Post by: David C. on June 06, 2010, 09:46:36 AM
One of the Zs must have had some kind of awful nightmare last night.   I'm pretty sure it was Zeke, but not 100% certain.   Around 4 AM, Zeke let out a howl like I had never heard before.   At first it sounded like a fire truck siren, and then I thought he may have been in pain, but I know both the Zs "Ouch" voice.   Zeke howled for about a minute until I called for him.   Then as abruptly as it started, it was over, save for an equally startled Zora who had to resettle herself in the crate.

Max-angel used to make similar howls when he was left alone, but he was awake.  It makes you wonder what Zeke was dreaming about that elicit that kind of reaction.

Zeke did get to go up on the big bed later in the morning and proceeded to do his various happy rolls and grunts, so whatever it was did not have any long lasting effect.

What a coincidence!Simon did the same thing last night.I think he may have been dreaming about sirens as the howl was the same as when hears sirens.

It is possible it was sirens.   Later this morning, I found out that a pregnant woman was assaulted in her own home literally around the corner from our house on Friday.   It was one of those crazy attacks where another woman wanted the pregnant woman's baby.  The victim was able to fend off her attacker and get to a neighbor, who dialed 911.   I imagine all heck must have broken loose as ambulances and police cars came charging to the scene.  It turned out the victim knew her attacker and the attacker has now been arrested for attempted murder and held without bail.  I doubt the Zs have ever heard anything like that before.

I often wonder if Ivy is dreaming of her doggy mum, sometimes when she is sleeping she does this sucky thing like she is feeding. It is so sweet!!  Mr T runs in his sleep sometimes. Wouldn't it be amazing to see into their little heads!!!

I have often wondered too what is going on in there when they are dreaming...I'm always torn whether to wake her up or not, if it's a bad dream I want to wake her but what if she's chasing skwerls or something!  :dontknow:

Fin does little yips and his feet twitch like crazy. Sometimes he growls and shows his teeth, which is funny cuz he never does that when he's awake.
