Post by: papbouv on May 29, 2010, 09:11:09 PM
Well I think Patches rolled in the mulberries ? she has sticky spots on he back and belly going to have to trim her house shoes off those are sticky too. Its the only thing I can come up with on how she would have got sticky nothing new in the yard.Just gave her a bath about a week & a half ago but MIL coming for dinner on Monday so have to make sure Patches is clean at least.Try just to bathe her once a month do not want to dry out her coat but cannot have a sticky dog either.Papbouv
I hate those neighbors next door those trees have tore up our fence + mulberries too.

We have neighbors with a mulberry tree as well. Parker doesn't bother with them, but they rot, they stink, they fall in our pool and they attract birds (which wouldn't be so bad) except the birdscrap in the pool. That's gross.
They have been invited to take it down, at our expense of course and they say they like it.
So then we cut everything that hangs over our yard, and since it's in the corner two other neighbors have asked us to cut what hangs over their yard. It's strange looking, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

That sucks. My neighbors tree hangs over half my front yard (my tree covers the other half) and it drops these brown sticky leaves that are coated with a glue like substance which of course plasters themselves all over a little longhaired dachshund body, they get stuck to the bottoms of her feeties and she walks like a tennessee walker. It also drops it's huge seeds covered in a very spiny pod which hurts puppy feeties and then of course tons of leaves for me to rake in the fall. Luckily it's the front yard which Hallie doesn't go in unless I'm with her, the back yard is free of trees. I don't understand people who don't take their neighbors into account I'd never let my tree hang over a neighbors fence!

Got's to see Bouvier's had to take liver bait home to bribe Patches & Buddy to let me back in the house they had to stay home in the high 90*'s so they would not have lasted long with me on the scooter. They loved the liver and forgave me for leaving them home with Dad.

:book1: AHEM . . .

You do have, of course, the legal right to remove any part of the tree that hangs over your yard.

WHY NOT . . . get a tree estimate for your half of the tree and the whole tree.  Then let the neighbor know - nicely - that you plan to trim your "half."  If they are interested in taking down their part, it could all get done at once.  Maybe they hate the tree, too!  :dontknow: If you are on really good terms, maybe you could invite them to meet the tree guy when he comes out.  They usually have tons of information of the type of tree, and good advice on what to do.

Here, it's pine sap.  Mostly on the feeties, but sometimes I have to cut bits of it out of the hair, too.

The Pro Line Blue waterless shampoo worked great no more sticky Patches MIL came over was able to pet her just fine MIL was out in her garden under her Peach tree she had a tick ride over with her yuck. She got the tick off killed it but gee sure hope she did not bring any more with her.I have not had that problem no fleas or ticks her yard is interesting to say the least she is trying to dig up her whole backyard turn it into a garden, she has all kinds of flowers, bushes, trees & high grass in with the flowers and such.Hubby is suppose to go mow her yard he hates her yard she should hire some one to mow but will not spend the monies.Instead she buys more material she has enough material to open 2-3 shops she will never sew it all up she has so much stacked every where its a fire hazard.?Sure hope I do not start having a Tick problem.
Sorry for the rant I get carried away some times.

Definitely, there should be no issue regarding cutting excess part of tree that hangs on your side. On different case here, the tree branch hang over the second floor window of my friend's house was the bridge of her neighbor's aggressive cat. And that cat was injured when my friend's dad thought the cat was intruder...

These neighbors are the pits I asked nicely a few years ago but all he said yes he would then did nothing.they moved to his mothers house for awhile she has Alzheimer s they let their daughter move in with her two or three kids.Had to serve he court papers to make her move out I heard the house was tore up and the pit.?
Since my husband broke his neck last May he has no business up on a ladder of any kind and now since we are both on SSD can't afford to have trees cut down very very expensive these trees are between the our house and their garage.Would need a expert tree cutter to cut the trees down.Just nothing we can do about it now not unless win the lottery ha,ha,ha.Papbouv

 If you have connections with a church, maybe they have members who volunteer to assist older persons with disabilities.  You could try that.
