I went to wake the girls in their crates today. I took the cloth covering the crates off and Zuzu came out, but Loki was motionless. I thought "Uhhhh, did she slip quietly into the night?" I called her name and patted her head and she awoke with a start and air snapped. Clearly her hearing loss has progressed from moderate to significant.
I cleaned her ears last night, though, so I wonder if a bit of the cleaning liquid was still in her ears.
Also, this was the first time in awhile that they slept through the night. Probably because their bellies were full of mulberries and mice.
Mice? Oh my! Loki, you and the Madderoo are in good company. Deef as a post and just plain not all there. Hope you had a lovely day eating your M & M's.
Buddy is 3 years old now always sleeps so soundly I have had to get a flash light to see if he was breathing its scary when they are older too. When I had Gizmo who was deaf I would stomp my feet before I got to her the vibration usually woke her up If not I would stomp my feet again best way to wake up an older dog that may not hear you call them.Good Luck you can put your heart back know it was in your throat been there.
Know the feeling, Emma did it to us a lot...............but she could just have been a nice dream and sleepy. When I went to Melb last Fri Amy did not surface till I was going out the door about 45mins later..........just likes her bed.

That must be a good night of sleep and still in good dreams before you wake her up.. Or maybe she done something late at night you didn't know..
Hope your heart has slowed down...... My Brandy is the same way.....
Is this in our future? Because my heart couldn't take it LOL. I could just see the look on your face!
