Title: Clearing our view
Post by: PattyInAK on November 08, 2005, 09:22:48 AM
Dan and I went over to our new house on Sunday and started clearing out the brush and scrawny trees from our "view."  Our house was placed at an angle so it would face Pioneer Peak in Palmer, AK.  Pioneer Peak is the darling of the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.  It was about +10F on Sunday, but perfect for working outside.  There wasn't any mosquitos and we certainly didn't overheat.

It looks like things are shaping up.  Are you getting more excited about moving in?  Do you think you'll be moved by New Years?  What a wonderful way to celebrate if you were!

Hi April,
We should be in the house by Christmas.  We are beside ourselves with excitement over our new home.  Its been wonderful watching it come together.  This is like it was waiting for Neeki's arrival.  The excitement is driving us crazy but we wouldn't have missed it for the world.
I have so much stuff I have been collecting over the years for my "dream home."  So it will literally be "like Christmas" when we move in and I get to upack all my treasures.  I bought a set of copper pots and pans 21 years ago from Spiegel.  They cost me $100, and they are still in their original boxes.

WOW!  I'd be excited too!  Having all new stuff that you've been saving will make it even more like Christmas!  lol  You'll have to keep us up to date with pictures so we can see it all with you!
