That's what I love about this board, we're all nuts about our 4 legger kids. She's especially pulling on my heart strings today.
Poor thing got a smack on the butt a couple of days ago (maybe a first??). Turns out a big swarm of BEES made a home in the wall of our house right outside the back door. I didn't know it until I saw Hallie go over there to the little hole they were going in and out of, I saw all the bees coming out at her and gave her a pop on the bum and said HALLIE!!! She immediately turned and ran into the house, she wasn't afraid of me at all she was just trying to be good and get out of the way even though she didn't know what the problem was.
I'm very allergic so have not been able to use the back door or let Hallie out there. I finally got someone to come spray them but there were several not in the wall at the time so they would hang out around the wall trying to get back in. I wanted to be sure Hallie didn't get close to them but she had to pass them on her ramp (they weren't always there and only a couple at a time so I was letting her go out with me watching) so to keep her from going over to sniff around, I got one of her turds and laid it in the middle of the ramp...so she gave it a wide berth away from the bees. Hee!
 Miss H miss A here, at least your mum did not lock you in your soft cage with the bee  .................and if yours is like mine it wuz a touch not a smack.
Mom now checks everytime she puts me in just in case.

Um, that wouldn't work too well here. :idiot: Mine would think you'd collected a nice snack for them.
Bees, EWWWW! Not allergic but don't like 'em too well either. Hope the spray job worked and Hallie and you can now safely trot out to the Poopatorium.
A perfect Princess!
Hope you have a Epie pen on hand since you live alone if you do not you should talk to a doctor about having one might save your life you sure do not want to get stung and have Miss Hallie watch you bing not able to breathe.Would sure freak her out since the bees are around your area hope you carry a cell phone with you at all times.Aniphalic (misspelled)shock is nothing to mess with no time too.
Hope all the bee's decide to go some where else hope they did not kill the bee's since they are becoming a endangered species many are just disappearing they are really needed to pollinate so many different things. If you have very many you might should call a bee keeper think they are in the yellow pages of the phone book they will come and take them away.
Good Luck to you and Miss Halie
I just love that black and tan face!
:meme: Anybody who can photoshop - how about putting the twins together: Hallie and wee Amy?
Auntie Karen
Totally agree !!!! Mary and Holly are really coming out of their shells and sometimes I almost cry watching them play !!! And I love when all 5 are piled on my lap..... Heaven
Hallie BB - you are most gawgeous :thumb:
LOL yes it was just a tap really, what was very cool is that she understood what was going on, she wasn't afraid of me at all or upset I "scolded" her, she just turned and ran into the house because she knew something was up and she needed to be out of the way. She was sitting at the back door by her doggie door when I came back in, with a look like "did you fix it Mom?"
Great idea Auntie Karen...Roberta do you have a high res image of wee Amy in similar lighting and pose you could email me it would be fun to photoshop them together!
OMG Sandi LOL!!! Yes the girls would think that was a doxie buffet table would they. The turd burglars! Too funny. Hallie is disgusted by poop (unless it's a nice big fresh cow pie then she's upside down in it ) she will try to cover it up with her nose in her poopatorium but doesn't get her nose very close to it.
Dee we'll have to try and get some shots of the 3 boys at once sometime! :thumb:
Papbouv, you are right, I need to get an epipen I just never remember to mention it in the Drs. Cell phone is a good idea too. Instead of carrying mace maybe I should carry bee spray actually I just got one of those emails that tells you should use that anyway on a "bad guy" since it shoots so far! :thumb: I thought the bees were all gone but yesterday I heard them buzzing around in the walls again ARGH!
That black and tan face loves you too Delia :-)
I love hearing that Barb! I can't imagine having 5...I still am not used to you having 5 LOL you are a lucky doxie mom and vice versa!
Call the doctors office now ask for one I think they use to have them at Drug stores but have not seen them around lately last time my son was stung years ago is throat started swelling up poked Benadrly down him it helped.Told his wife its up to her now to keep an eye out for it on him each time he has gotten stung the reaction has been worse & worse.
Would hate for you to get stung with just you and Miss Hallie there if you went down Miss Hallie would be frantic I'm sure does not take long to quit breathing cell phone & Eppi pen buys you time.Call your doctor. You may have a Queen bee some where inside your wall might need to call a bee keeper to hunt them down for you.
That is what happened with me too, I was stung a few times when I was a kid and it was just like mosquito bites, but twice I was riding my horse and we got into yellowjackets and both times we both got stung dozens of times (I fell off my mare one of the times and she waited for me even though she was being stung all over and couldn't even raise her head up the next day ). Now I just get stung once and swell up like a balloon. I called some beekeepers, pest guys and the local beekeeping association and the beekeepers wanted the bees but they can't get into the wall without major construction plus the big fuse box is right there and I'd also need an electrician, would cost a fortune and be a huge mess. I would much rather someone could take the poor things to a different home but everyone I called won't touch the job. I don't want poison there either as that is where Hallie passes by several times a day. Dang bees. If they sting my Hallie I will rip a hole in the wall with my bare hands! (ha don't I sound tough).
Your poor son, was he stung a lot before he became allergic or did he start out that way? One of the older beekeepers told me he used to be allergic but he's been stung so many times now he's immune...I didn't tell him I didn't think it worked that way! I will call my dr and get an eppi pen you are right need to have one.
No my son was stung a few times in the backyard as a kid the worst time we were on the highway going to my MIL house when she lived in Iowa.Stupid husband drove with the windows part way down my son was in the back seat with Chomps our American Staffordshire terrier.Pete my son started screaming I kept yelling at hubby to pullover he is always in his own zone he finely pulled over Pets was swelling up then.Chomps face was also swelling up finely found it huge Bumble Bee dead in the back seat I think Chomps got it after it attacked Pete they were best buds.Had to go to the next town looking for Benadryl (misspelled0)could not find any except a cream which I slathered on Pete & Chomps did take the swelling down.Pete was nauseated and sick. Then the next time he was stung was at home then he had the throat started to swell I think if there is a next time he may go into the aniflacitic (mispelled) shock.
You do have a big problem no ideas to pass on sorry,Good Luck.Papbouv
Epi pen on you list of to do things.
Aww, Hallie looks so beautiful!
Scooter says: I WOULD EAT BEES FOR YOU AUNTIE DD
(he really tries to do this)
(much to my unending chagrin)
(bees =/= food)
And OMG, Dee, that's terrifying! A swarm of bees in your wall! I'd be a nervous wreck. Flying stinging things scare me to death. UGH. I am glad you got it taken care of! *SHUDDER*
We all love Hallie so much!!!!
