Title: I got my toes chopped yesterday
Post by: Charlie on November 08, 2005, 02:56:37 AM
:doah:  I got to go for a ride in the car yesterday, but little did I know that I was going to the vet to have my toenails clipped.  I guess since mom drew blood the last time she tried to chop my toenails, she decided it was a task left for the vet to do.  I did okay, but wasn't happy about it at all.  I also got my boardetella shot.

Mom talked to the other vet who has helped me with my back issues and he said to take me totally off the prednisone.  Woohoo!  I think I'll do okay without it as I've been getting only one tablet (5mg) every other day for about a week now and have been back to my old self.  I hope I stay that way.

Abbie - that's my golden retriever sissy, went with us to get her toes chopped too.  She was lucky though as she ended up not having to get them chopped at all.  The vet tech asked mom if Abbie runs and mom said that she takes Abbie running with her sometimes.  I guess she's lucky 'cause running on the pavement apparantly helps keep the toenails filed down.  Mom has never taken ME running with her.  I guess she figures my short little legs just wouuldn't keep up with her.   :walk2:

That is awful to trick a poor pupper like that!  I hope you got a treat for your trouble.
Cajsa will go running with David and actually will run faster than him sometimes.  Of course he's never taken her on his longer runs only about a mile or so before she gets back home and he goes back out!  If she went everytime she'd eventually be able to go the entire run though.  When she had back issues we asked the vet about it and he told us that if she was able to do it and wanted to do it that it would help keep her back muscles strong and would be healthy.  So we let her continue running and she loves it.  (Of course we waited until she was off all meds and was finished with her rest before taking her out.)
