Just finished this guy for a miniature art show I'm entering tomorrow...just in the nick of time. It is 4" x 6", titled "Ready for Action".
Wow this one I do not want to pet looks like the cat is right there beautiful work.
DeeDee, I feel like I'm just standing on the oppostie side of this guy and he sees me! Awesome and so life like!!!!
I almost called this one "Lock and Load" but I had a big one named that once...titles are REALLY hard I hate cheesy titles or over used titles and that's hard to do.
Hallie and Ron and Delia's Ilsa saw this kitty in real life...from the safety of the van, and Delia with them, of course! I know the van was safe with those 2 on guard. :thumb: His name is "Charlie".
 I think I saw a puddy cat..............a big puddy cat.
Stunning it looks so as if you can reach out and pat it, Dee Dee how mini is mini, for anything in particular.
Roberta
Different miniatures shows have different specs for size but this one it can't be bigger than 4" x 6" and the subject can't be more than 1/6 life size. It takes a suprisingly long time to paint one even this small though! Hallie and I got it entered today they already have 300 entries will be before done, looong drive home.
Simply amazing!
I always thought the smaller the painting, the longer it takes to plan and complete it! I've heard of artists who take hours to paint a big mural, but months to do miniatures. I just took my portfolio to school to share my drawings, paintings, and watercolors with my kiddos, because we have a unit of stories about artists and musicians. I have a watercolor that is 18" x 24", that I painted from a 3" x 5" card (and I don't exactly feel compatible with watercolors, so it took me a while).
Julia!!!!! We want to see your art! I didn't know you had that much, wow, you have to post it now :hello2:
Just beeeyoootiful!!!! It really is amazing how life-like your paintings are.
I remember the first time Ilsa heard the lion growl. She perked up and started barking. Hallie was just looking around ... "Get used to this, kid ... this is life with my mom!"
Ohhh did Ilsa do that? I didn't know that, how funny! What a good girl protecting her pack! She was probably saying to Hallie..."Tell me you just saw a cat the size of a small horse walk by."
Fin Says: What? He doesnt wook so tuff.. i could take um
Dee Dee---that picture is awesome. Your work is just wonderful. And I agree, JULIA - we want to see your work, too.
