She had the first shot on Wed, and had to spend the night at the vets and had the second shot on Thursday. I picked her up Thursday evening, with the instruction that she needs to be quiet for 30 day.... :meme: HELP ! I will do my best.....she and Mary are non stop play !!!! My mantra in the last 12 hrs has been... Settle Down...over and over.... :doah:
Her HW were not to the severe stage yet, so I feel good that we will take care of this. Mary was really out of sorts Wed night....she really missed her sissie. She was overjoyed when I brought Holly in, and did major zoomies...even though I wouldn't let Holly run with her !
Asking for a few rays that she gets through this with ease....and mommy doesn't go completely nuts trying to keep her quiet :2funny:
Warmest rays heading your way for a peaceful and speedy recovery for this sweet little girl of yours.
quiet for THIRTY DAYS??? :chairfall:
good luck. srsly if she's playin' all the time now, she'll get thru this easily. Bless you Barb. You realize you now have a "link" of wieners.
Might ask the vet if you can give Rescue Remedy to everyone to keep everyone calm you too Mom it has been around for years & years very safe if you get the one for animals usually at a health food store.Might check into the calming in fuser that you plug into the wall.Good Luck.

:meme: NO!! :meme: NO!! :meme: NO!! :meme: THE HEARTWORM MEDICINE KILLS THE WORMS. THE HEARTWORMS BREAK UP AND DISSOLVE INTO THE BLOOD!! PLAYING AND RUNNING AROUND CAN CAUSE PIECES OF DEAD HEARTWORM TO BREAK LOOSE, CAUSE AN EMBOLISM AND KILL HER!!!!!! :meme:
My Irish Setter, Rebecca had heartworms and spent six weeks living in her kennel day and night, only out to make and once in a while to lie down on my bed with me. Keeping quiet and still is CRITICAL to survivng this "cure."
Lots of rays coming from Bawlamer.
Auntie Karen, the herd and the Bun-Ka-Teeers :rescue: :walk2: :dump: :runaway: :icon_albino: :grommit: :dog:
Are you going to cross it off on the calender..............might be better getting something to calm all of them for time.
Good luck!
Rays heading her way from New Jersey.
Annie & the New Jersey Doxie Gang
Peaceful rays to you, Barb and your zoomie dachsies. Have Holly take a note from Bran Bran....the bed is the best place to be.
Goodness that should be a stressful month! Yes lets hope that gets them all nasty little creatures. We don't treat for heartworm out here because we don't get them but I used to give Fred and Jessie heartworm meds since we traveled so far to dog shows. Really an awful parasite.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh. My bad.
Doxherding Karen is most certainly right no playing no running no nothing on the leash at all times so you can control her speed or in the crate surprised the vet giving her the heart worm treatment did not tell you this. Hopefully you can keep everyone calm until the heart worm treatment is over. Then gradually let her resume activity do not want any blood clots breaking loose no dead dogs. Good Luck
 :comfort:  :comfort: Prayers and hugs to Holly and mommy for a complete (and quiet) recovery :thumb:
Sending more hugs and vibes for Holly, for her fastest recovery.. Hope she's doing something or playing with something that could keep her busy and entertained..
