Ok so Romeo is an only child and spoiled rotten and our little baby boy. He is not dog he is people at least he thinks so :thumb:
We kind of messed up when we first got him and took him over to grandma and granpa's so they watch him everyday while me and hubby work and on Sunday for church and then if we have something to do on Saturdays they will watch him. So my question is I am wanting to get another one a girl he is better with the girls :apls:  :exactly: I am thinking of getting a real small one and thinking Romeo might like a play mate....he does real good being an only child but I thought maybe it might be good for him to have a sister. He will be 2 on June 1st. This way I am thinking maybe he would be able to stay home sometimes with the other one and they would be ok. We have a doggie door.
So can I get some feed back on what everyone thinks of this and some ideas please and thanks so much.
hugs and love laura and romeo
I think it would be a wonderful idea!!!! My two just adore each other and they play and snuggle...It would give him company. Remember, adoption is the best option :thumb:
Never never never never and I mean never ever ever name yer new dog after the Norse God of Mischief.
Peanut, Susie, Creme-puff, Angel, these are GOOD names. Pick something like this so the karma gods will not laugh at you and make yer life miserable.
I'm just sayin'.
Romeo is young enough, I'll bet he'd love a playmate. Especially since you and your husband both work and cant be with him all the time. I agree with Cheryl, there are tons of wonderful doxies needing homes in rescue if you decide to go that route! You won't need a tv anymore because you'll have constant entertainment with two playful doxies!
LOL Les yer killin' me!
Another good bit of advice would be, don't ever light a match in your pocket...
Yes another does help them settle when you are not there, and also helps in making twice the mess if get into something. We have always had boy girl pairs, but we did have oliver and Angus along with Emma for a while.
And as Dee Dee says they are fun to watch, in our present pair we tthink one makes the bullets and the other fires them.
Our piece of advice let the pair meet on neutral ground as who you think is right may not be Romeo's right, I take it a girlie would be Juliet.

Tne 4 babies at our house is alot of company to each other! We have 3 males and a female. Two of the males play like they've been together all of their lives. They act like little kids;one will be laying in one of the "doggie" beds minding his own business and the other one will go over and agitate the one that's laying down;and it switches around.
Great idea will run with each other keeping each other more fit just don't go too small. As for leaving them alone together while you are at work that is fine but would not let them use a doggie door with you not being there too much can happen. If you have a cyclone fence some one could steal them also if you have a Minni you have to watch out for birds of prey like red tail hawks and such, also if both were to get out 2 heads are better than one they can dream allot of things up to do. Just another angle on having two not against two they can have allot of fun I agree they should meet on a neutral territory,girl-boy combinations work well sometimes boy-boy have problems. If you go over two you have a pack situation and sometimes have them jocking for position of head dog.I say go for it.Papbouv I have two but one is a Doberman male & Patches is a Long Hair Dachshund.
