Hi, everyone,
I have a friend about 40 miles away who was diagnosed with CJD - I think it is Creutchfeld-Jakob's Disease (sp?) about 3 weeks ago. Anyhow, it seems to be a combination of Alzheimer's and Muscular Dystrophy. Her mother died from this same thing years ago. There is no cure. Lisa already does not recognize her sons as of two days ago and has been put into a hospice care facility, to make it easier on the boys - ages 16 and 13. Please keep the family in your prayers. This has been such a rapid downhill spiral for them. Thank you.
We'll be thinking of them xxx
They all will be in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry to hear this.
Rays & Hugs to her sons going to be really hard on them being teenagers.
We will be praying for all them.
We are so very sorry to hear this sad news and will certainly hold them all in our thoughts and prayers.
How horrible she must be pretty young with kids that age too. Very tragic, each of those diseases are devastating enough in the themselves I didn't know there was a combo. Will keep them in my prayers.
Sending HHHHHH's & PPPPPP's for them both.

Oh, my - I wish I could have gotten some good news about Lisa yesterday, but it looks like it is going so quicly we are getting dizzy. Her systems are shutting down. She cannot talk, can barely move, she doesn't know anyone, elimination of body wastes is shutting down - I feel so badly that there is nothing we can do now but pray and wait for the end. Her mother passed from the same thing 9 years ago, and her two boys have a 50/50 chance of having inherited this, too. Recovering from this now would not be a good thing, because she would be unable to walk, talk, or understand what is going on. Thank you for your prayers, I will pass them on to the family.
Oh Julia - I am so sorry...many rays and prayers on the way.
prayers your way !
Lisa passed away sometime earlier than 7:10 this morning, I do not have any details. I am very thankful, for her sons' sakes, that she did not linger on as did her mother. I prefer that the boys remember her as she was a short 4 1/2 weeks ago. We will miss you, Lisa, and know you are in a better place, where your movement, thinking, and personality have been restored.
Hugs to everyone.
I am so sorry for this family, Julia, and for you, for the loss of your friend. I have recently learned a little about this disease in a CE course, and it is a horrid one. I agree that it was a blessing she didn't linger, it doesn't make the loss any easier. I'll keep these boys in my prayers as they adjust to this stage of life without their mother.
Sending HHHH's & PPPPP's for you and her family. As hard as it is it is a blessing that her sons didn't have to watch her suffer for a long period of time.
You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.
