Title: Able to leap an
Post by: Marcia from MI on March 10, 2010, 06:06:12 PM
18 gallon Rubbermaid tote in a single bound.

Now Dee Dee don't panic, no puppies were harmed.  Danni is now going on 9 months old and still rambunctious and hyper, and she gives me heart attacks every day.  The other evening as I was sitting watching TV and working on my laptop the cute puppy decided she wanted up on the couch to help, but her way was blocked by a Rubbermaid tote I was using as a desk and so what did my precious little girl do?  Why she took a flying leap over the tote onto the couch clearing my lap and the computer in a single bound.  She even leaps over the snow left on the grass to get to the muddy soft grass that she finds so wonderful.  Squirrels, rabbits and some large birds are not safe around her because she is so fast, but mom always is able to catch her no matter what.

Danni here - mom calls me a tomboy, but I say I'm just taking over for the brudder Angels and have to keep those critters out of my yard.  And you know what  mom took me to the gwoomer to get my toes chopped and she was stopped for speeding.  The powise guy gave her a ticket and even my crying in my carrier couldn't prevent it, so mom says no extra treats this month.

She loves her mommy and no rubbermaid tote is going to stop her! Sorry to hear about the ticket...must have been a cold hearted guy to not be convinced by Danni to not give you a ticket.

Danni,

That is one impressive leap!  I used to leap like that.  Well, actually I used to "hop" more than "leap".   Or maybe I was doing more of a "sproing".  But those days are long gone and in any case, I am writing also to express my sympathy that your poor Mom still got ticketed even though you were in the car.  No one is supposed to be immune to the Powers of the Dachshund!

I will share my extra treats with you.

xoxo,

Oh SKOOTR, the powise guy couldn't see me cuz mom had me in a carrier, but I was crying my wittle heart out, still that didn't stop him from givin mom that paper thingy.  Thanks for the offer to share your treat, but mom bought a big bag of baby carrots for me, by the way what's Tofu?  Mom bought some the other day and said she's going to marinate it  and then bake it, sounds awful to me.

LOL that is a great visual. Marcia do you find yourself telling yourself that Danni is not a doxie and you don't have to be quite as concerned with the back? Can't believe she is 9 months already!

I am more worried about my back.  Since I got Danni at 4.5 weeks old I've had her longer that she was with her real mom and she follows me constantly.  If I don't watch where I'm walking she'd probably trip me and then where would we be.  She has been acting like Sam a bit recently.  When I would be on the computer in the office Sam would come in and whine then I'd say 10 more minutes and he WOULD be back in 10 minutes.  Danni does the same thing except she waits just outside the door and the returns to try to jump on my lap.

Sounds like there is some of Sam coming through! She sounds like a real joy. Yes it would be bad for you to fall and be laid up you need to install beepers on her!

Tofu?!  Tofu is the name of a Dachshund I used to know.   I find this alarming.  Your mom is not going to bake a Dachshund, is she?

Yay for baby carrots!  I used to like those, but now I don't have enough teeth left to crunch them up.  WOE.   Enjoy them for me!

 :book1: AHEM . . .

May I suggest a peanut butter Kong for Miss Danni to work on to while away the time when you are busy?

And Auntie Karen put a bed in the breakfast nook next to her chair for Guinness.

Thank you Dr Leaky.

Miss Danni has a bed in my office, but will she lie in it, No way.  Miss Danni has to keep guard on mom all the time so those pesky kitties don't get on her lap or even near her.

SKOOTR hows about your mom pureeing some carrots for you?
