Title: Poopatorium
Post by: Dee Dee and Hallie on March 08, 2010, 09:00:06 PM
I don't think I ever posted photos of Hallie's poopatorium. I just got the battery back for my camera so shot a couple, she loves her poopatorium, the grass is turning a bit brown in there but it's holding up better than I thought it would. You can barely see the paw prints along the back wall, she walked over it with muddy paws when we had it laid out on the ground putting it together, she made her own wallpaper.

The second photo looks like"MUmmmmmmmmmmmm, some privacy PLease"
If it were here to-day it would be about 10 miles up the road as the wind is pretty high to-day.
Ms H let no one ever say you are spoilt................

LOL Roberta we need to come up with a more positive word than spoiled for our pups don't we...maybe overpriviledged?  (obviously I have no idea how to spell that lol). I'll bet you get some wicked winds up on the hill like that. I love wind! We get some pretty decent windstorms around here with the occasional big ones, one of the reasons I chose this poopatorium is because they said it woldn't blow off in a wind, I could just see the thing flying off with Hallie under it and getting smacked by stuff! We had a couple of big windstorms this winter and it didn't budge, it has big corkscrew ground tethers it is tied to and it weighs almost 300 lbs. Hey I could get Hallie a pony to live in there!  :thumb: Is you weather warm still this time of year?

 Our weather has started to get a bit cooler, and in the past two weeks we have had a ton of rain. We were lucky to miss out on the destructive strorms, my brothers 4x4 was damaged in Melbourne by hail stones, we to were in Melbourne but had gone to one of the big shopping malls. Its better weather for the monsters as we can get back to walks in the afternoon, with Nannie and da boys.So the view has gone from very yellow

Yes! Sandi and Mark got to watch Hallie in action in there!!  :thumb:

LOL Barb you read my mind I actually did ask my cousin if he could put in both heat and AC in there but he just shook his head and walked off...(I was being serious!!). I do put a towel in the dryer to warm it up and wrap her in that and then carry her to the poopatorium and then back in again. That will have to do!

Dee Hallie says she would be more than happy to share with the boys there is room for 4 and then some!

Roberta those shots are just breathtaking! You are doing great with the panoramas! What a view not many get to enjoy something like that (and to have two adorable fur kids to boot!)

That is quite a poopatorium!!!! Gretchen doesn't care if she has to poop in the rain. Elli would be much obliged if she could borrow a little corner - pooping in the rain is just plain painful - all those raindrops hitting you in the back!

Roberta - those pictures are great! What a beautiful area you live in!

Scooter now wants a poopatorium of his very own...

Gretchen is a tough cookie for sure! She'd fit in well in Washington. Hallie says she will share more than a corner with Elli, it would take the two of them a long time to fill up the poopatorium.  :angel4:

LOL Lauri sort of like Snoopys doghouse...of course being a dachshund she would need an escalator instead of stairs but we can do that!

Scooter you deserve a poopatorium of your very own! Work on Mom...

Even Buddy would fit in there you know Doberman's will melt when it rains on them Patches could care less. But as the song goes "the wind comes sweeping down on the plain" think it would blow away here in Oklahoma sometimes we have 30-45 mph winds they really stay going most of the times.

And MOM will order one just as soon as that lottery number coes up a winner!

Mom is hoping really hard that the Lottery thing works out.  I'm late for a dental cleaning, and she wants to take me to a V-E-T who is going to poke me full of pins (not that I approve of this.  AT ALL), and she wants to get me a ramp and a bed too.  But all these things require something called "money" and mom's kidney is only up to $2.99 on eBay*.

I fail to see why that magic Oprah lady doesn't show up at our house and fix this problem.  I've seen her do it for other people who aren't half as adorable as I am.

I don't understand the human world.  It seems very silly!

xoxo,

*we are kidding!  We know it is not legal at all to sell parts of people on auction sites, no matter how tempting.

I think we should all go onto eBay and bid up your kidney! I tried to donate one of mine to my Fred dane but they wouldn't take it guess I wasn't good enough for my boy...

We discovered that Hallie's poopatorium doubles as a vomitorium the other morning! A twofer! :thumb:

Well, if you ask Scooter he would say that since dogs are clearly the superior beings, why would they want our old parts?      I, on the other hand, think it's amazing and generous (though not at all surprising) that you'd offer to do that for Fred.  (aw, Fred!  I still wish I could've met him)

And Hallie had a sick tummy?  Is she okay?   *frets*

What a lovely poopatorium!  And, the dual-purpose certainly makes it a double-value!  Sophie & Sam don't mind going out in snow at all, but rain is another thing!  Although they are really quite good about it.  In the winter, while we continue to clip toenails down, we allow paw hair to grow.  It gives protection when walking on Iowa's snowy, icy ground.  But in the spring, we trim Sophie's paw hair as well as the nails (Sam's paw hair never grows very long, but Sophie's is nothing short of magnificent).  Extra scampering and twirling occurs when the paw hair is first trimmed.  Must be like the first day each year that you got to go barefoot!  In the summer, our treetops are dense enough to offer some protection from the elements, but right now, there's no protection, and Sophie wants a poopatorium.  She may get a small patio later this year, but for the time being, she won't have a poopatorium. :(  But, when the dogs come back into the house when it's been raining out, the towel rub-down is enjoyable enough that it may make that trip out in the rain worth it to them.  And, having a poopatorium has got to make the pickup duty easier too.  Lucky Girl, Hallie! :)

The good news is you will never have to worry about getting one of your Mom's kidney's Scoot, unlike Fred and me, I think you and your Mom wear different sizes!  :thumb:
Yes she is just fine she has inherited a touch of her Mom's bad tummy me thinks, she does this once in a while and then she's fine for a long time. I can't always connect it to anything she ate...?

Hallie's sister is tougher than she is! She used to be ok with going out in the wet and cold even though her little ears would practically drag the ground in dispair...but now since I've started to carry her out to the poopatorium in a warm from the dryer blanket, she will just stand at the open door when it's raining and look over her shoulder at me like, you've got to be kidding me. As soon as she's done her thing in the poopatorium she runs over with her back to me and holds up one hind leg and waits, like Oooh my paw got slightly damp pick me up quick and get me back to the house! She loves going out when it's nice though so my next project is figuring out how we can buy her a winter home in Arizona (ha right!).

It also sounds like Sophie has Hallie's bountiful feetie hair! I can just see her dancing and prancing around what a doll...I would love to see some current photos of her and Sam! We wish we could share the poopatorium with them but a new patio sounds wonderful!

I just snorted coffee through my sinuses at the thought of trying to fit a me-sized kidney into Scooter.  HAHAHAHAHAHA

(Scooter: I THINK IT IS NOT SO FUNNY, MOM)
(Scooter: *pouts*)

I'm glad Hallie is fine!  Sweet girl.

ok well at least I am not as crazy as my neighbors think :2funny: I had a portable carport for my pups for a couple of years then a storm took it out and we bought an ez up that last till the first wind, I was hot........so last summer we put an actual carport in our backyard and the neighbors just shook their heads. I plan to put turf down under it this summer.

And don't even THINK about trying to give him a lung...!!!  :angel4:

I hate to tell you Sue...but you ARE as crazy as people think.  :thumb: BUT you are in the land of crazy dachshund people here where of course, our reality IS sane. After all, the definition of insanity is the way the minority behaves and in Wiener Writing Land, we RULE!

I had considered the EZ Up idea but also figured it would turn into a neighborhood terrifying kite in the first wind. I looked into all kinds of tents, greenhouses, small buildings, etc but I wanted something that could withstand hurricane force as I didn't want to worry about her being out there and the thing taking her off to Oz...this one doesn't budge. It is the best feeling to be standing there waiting for her to do her thing when it's pouring buckets on the roof and bring her back in the house without a drop of water on her. The carport idea sounds ideal!
