OK boys with back problems it is not mandatory you lift your leg to pee also not mandatory to mark things I'm a about a 30" at the shoulder, 98# Doberman Pincher I'm also three years old.I have never lifted my leg to pee also never marked anything in my life.My Mom would come down on me like I do not know but it would not be pretty if I marked anything. You need to let your backs heal so you can get well run around and then you can pee like a boy again,Buddy
Yes, neither of my boys marked, and Oliver leg lift is hardly a lift at all and most of the time he just sort of squats. Not like my sisters pair that you spend the whole time watching them in case they do, we have to make sure all doors are closed and we lift their bed as they went in there once and I was not happy as my pair had to sleep on the floor till it washed and dried, and it sstill took a while for them not to smell it.

Porky Pie never has lifted his leg. He has always peed "like a girl dog."
Zeke seldom lifts his leg. It may be because he was watching Zora as a puppy, who is a female dog. Max-angel initially would not lift his leg for his original owners until he went to their parents house, where they had a male sheltie that lifted its leg. After that, Max would always lift his leg. He also decided he only wanted to eat his food from a BIG bowl as a result of that experience.
YEAH, GO AHEAD RUB IT IN!! :cussing:
Merlin and Beau weren't neutered until they were rescued from a shelter in Alabama, at approximately 2 and 4 years of age. And there isn't anything not worth marking in their books! Which is why they are banished to the deck outside most of the day.

Heh. Aw, Max!
Scooter has, as long as I've had him, enjoyed mixing it up when it comes to peeing. Sometimes a squat, sometimes a leg-lift. Depends on his mood, the weather, and if he thinks anything's worth marking, I guess.
Of course, now that he's an invalid, he seems to WANT to lift his leg more than ever.
Apparently "Dachshund" is German for "Contrary Little Dog". *sigh*
Trissy heard that boys should lift their leg to wee but with only Holly to teach him he started to lift a front leg when he wee's. It is so funny, he wee's and points LOL
