Hallie had her 6 month eye recheck today at the opthmologist. We got very good news, neither her cataracts or her iris atrophy has changed or progressed! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: Her eyes looks stable right now. So she isn't as concerned with following her as closely so we have 10 months before we need to go back. :thumb: I love this Dr, she always talks so nice to the dogs and every time she examines something, or asks them to do something she will give them a little treat. It is amazing how quickly Hallie quits shaking and starts perking up her ears in expectation of the treat and getting into the "game".
She was also given a "maze test" to check her night vision. They brought a bunch of trash bins into the room as obstacles, then turned off the lights. I stood on one side of the room, with Hallie and the Dr on the other. Then I was to call her so she could see if Hallie could navigate the obstacles in the dark or if she'd bonk into them. Staying true to her doxie heritage, she stopped at each bin and inspected it for food. We did it again and that time she scooted right through with no problem so her night vision is great! :thumb:
I'm sooo relieved I was a little nervous to hear the results today.
That´s great news and sounds like you have a great Dr. too. The maze test for night vision is such a good idea! Don´t you just wish human Docs were always so thorough? I have never got a treat from one either....
Wow, the eye doctor is very thorough....what wonderful news!!!! Yippiee :hello2:
Its part of the Doxie Code check everything out for food, good to hear her eyes are not getting worse. How are You???
I'm glad Miss Hallie is doing so well. I don't know about seeing but the perfect hearing test around here is to unlatch the treat jar. Bonnie can be clear at the end of our long Mobile Home and be Bonnie-On-The-Spot in an instant. She don't miss many treats around here, that's for sure.
Great news Dee Dee, here's to a better year for you both.
Love and hugs
