Post by: Gail on February 01, 2010, 03:55:13 PM
Dis is Ivy here and I been sucha good gurl for mummy today!! Mummy did buy a new snake for the puter to make it talk to her i-bone for something about i-chewns and I don't fink it was workin but I killed it so it would fit a whole lot better for her. I gave the snakey a good shakin up and bited it hard lotsa times to make it do it's fing for mummy. I dunno why my dumb brudder sat with his paws covering his eyes the whole time - stoopid boy didn't help me kill da snakey fing one bit but i am sooooo good i killed it all bymeself.  Den he was a big tattle tailer and sat pointing at where I had left my killed snakey, keeping a whole distance from it in case mummy finked he had killed it cos he says I shouldnadunnit.  Hmm mummy wasn't as impressed as I fot she should be but mebbe I didnt kill it good enough just yet but i'm teething, just wait til I got all of my big gurl teef.

Dear Ivy: :icon_study:

As a recovering computer chewer and a member of C.A. (Chewers Anonymous) I understand your desire to chew any and all snakey-thingies.  However, you must try to overcome this urge.  It will only lead to trouble.  Trust me - Auntie Karen STILL hasn't forgotten her Macintosh wireless keyboard that I chewed.

Picture that being an electrical cord instead of an I-pod cord.

Of course Im certain that your busy puppy proofing the house and have lots o chew toys.

I've had that problem with a foster dog. He chewed the cord to the girlfriends electric heating pad, thank God he chewed between the timer and the pad...and the timer had run out and the pad was off. I still have nightmares about that one. That was a close call.

You might try the Anti Lick strips by NurturedPets.com  one dog was eating Dry wall and they put a strip by it dog did not eat the dry wall any more???. Then I heard about someone using some kind of Chinese hot mustard ? sorry do not remember the name but some one that eats Chinese food might know it.Of course there is the old stand by Bitter Apple I never had much luck with it but I guess some have since it is still on the market.Did hear of a breeder that would  put old wire in the X-pens with her puppies that she had sprayed down with the Bitter Apple trying to train them not to chew on wires. Not sure how well it worked for her.Good Luck

So glad the little pooper didn't get into something deadly.  Whatta scare.  I think she is channeling Miss Holly.

Anyway, you should get Bitter Apple spray. (I don't know if the brand name is the same in the UK.) That stuff works!  I sprayed it on everything and it doesn't stain.  Woodwork, carpet, baskets, furniture...
One time I was talking with my girlfriend in the kitchen and Zuz was reeeeeeaaaaalllly quiet.  I got up and said "I better be sure she's not chewing through an electrical wire."  and don'tcha know, she was chewing through an electrical wire.  after that I sprayed everything 2 feet from the floor. (and replaced the wire.)

A piece of advice: HIDE YOUR VACCUUM!!

That was the first "beast" Fin brought upon himself to kill.

Fin Says: I wipped its tail RITE OFF!

Hence why we have a shiny new vaccum that we didnt really need..

Hey Finn, we can be speshul pals cuz I've chewed da tail off'n our baccuum cweaner too.  Mommy and papa had to take it to the baccuum cweaner hostipital and have a new tail sewn on.  Course I did this when I was a much younger Roo.  Now dat ol' fwor dwagon don't skert me at all.  It scares ol' rough and tough Bonnie, dough.  She thinks she's such a tuffy dawg but she's weally a scarety kitty cat......don't tell her I said so or I'll get bounced.

Those were nice bites, bless. It's usually just part of growing up baby but don't manage to reach them all, some we're just have "teeth" of their own that could hurt you..

Glad she didn't get hurt. She is soooooo very cute!!!! I love her face! And she has wide (big) front paws - I love 'em! My Elli has them. I call them her clod hoppers/snow shovels.

Hmm yes, those paws, makes me wonder if she really is just a very small rottie - she looks like she still has some growing to do to fit those shoes LOL.

Yes, she does look like Loki and I am scared LOL, loved having a cuddle with those two - such a long time ago now Leslie!!
