It's the Zs here. Dad went to take us for a goferride, which we love. Dad usually puts us in the back of the Dogmobile, and we work our way up to the front. Well, imagine our surprise when we found this in the Dogmobile!

...and a close up. Hurrumph! How are we supposed to help Dad drive if we can't get up there with him?

Dad here: When I first started transporting the Zs, they would stay back in the cargo area of the Subaru. Eventually, Zora figured out how to jump the seat and Zeke quickly followed. I bought this barrier off eBay. It was fairly inexpensive, but looked fairly sturdy. The only downside is that it nearly requires an engineering degree to put it together. Mind you, I can tear a bicycle down to its frame and put it back together without breathing hard, but this thing definitely made me work!
I also had to deal with the tether for Jessica's car seat, which meant it had to be put in offset. Still, for 40 bucks, including shipping, it was worth the piece of mind to keep the Zs from wandering all over the car...and restricts the nose prints to the cargo ara!
Dumb and dumber have not worked that one out yet. Amy is always in a crate anyway. Do they not have trouble in such a large area getting a footiie hold. Jane my sister has a mattress she puts in that takes them up to window height so no back problems.
The only thing we have to watch out with Oliver is rabbits so he does not jump out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!of the suzuki my mazda 3 the seats are to l;ow so he just makes it to the windows.

Hey Z's, I knows what you means. Dis is da Maddewoo. I used to be able to wander fweely. I'd sit in mommy's lap and then jump to da back seatie for a snooze. Heck, I've even sat in Papa's lap.....while he's dwiving......psssst, don't tell da cops. :nana: THEN IT ALL CAME DO AN END. When Bonnie came to wiv wiff us, suddenly we were buckled into (gasp) SEATBELTS! Yep, they attach to the people seatbelts and then attach to us. It has hampered our bounce vewwy much. Mommy and papa lubs da seatbelts and since I'm an old Woo, I just settle down and go to sweep. Bonnie, dough, she cwies and whines until mommy tells her to shush. Bonnie isn't da best twavel pup but at least she ahs to sit or lay still.
Snazzy gate, btw. It is very mommy approved.

David C. me thinks it will not keep them in the back for long when they put there heads together they may find away around it so they can get in the back seat. hope I'm wrong but you may have to rescue one one of these days.Papbouv
 Ya know . . .
I was thinkng. Do those three ovals (they look like a double trombone) go on separately? Because I already see a problem with the gap on the driver's side by the window. Could one of the Z's wheedle his/her way through there? Seems to me the largest piece should be at the widest spot, i.e. right above the seat back, and a smaller piece up by the roof. We are talking about vertically challenged puppers after all.

It's far best for you guys, it's safe there. A neighbor here been on car accident and the dogs just fine in there.
The gap is an optical illusion. The "Trombones" do adjust. At one point, Zeke was poking his head through the middle. It was quite funny looking in my rear view mirror and seeing him dead center.
