I was wondering, since most of the rest of us on here are freezing this weekend (except those in sunny California) just how close we were to the temperature where you are. It is a cold 19 degrees right now and we may see 36 today. I did just look ahead and saw it will be a balmy 48 on Monday and Thursday we may be sweating with a high of 59. I really like cold weather, but even this has been a little bit much. The least we could do is get some white stuff with it (we did see a literal dusting of snow on Thursday night).
I wonder if Buelah, Bella, Oscar and Beatrice saw some white stuff today. It was mighty close to their area of Florida....
Teresa I have a friend who lies in San Francisco and she was complaining that it was cold there - 65 degrees.
We´re still stuck in the UK at my Mum´s, roads closed, heavy snow, 18 degrees centigrade BELOW zero. All UK and France the same so can´t even thinhk of driving home yet.
Hope Patty, Dan, Willy and Alex are snuggling by the woodstove in Alaska!
Hey guys where abouts are you in the UK, minus 18 sounds like Scotland!! Stay cosy and if you are near Leeds at all pop in xxx
Hmmm - I don't know about Sandi in SLO, but it has been 40 too many mornings here in Bakersfield! My 4 hustle outside and hurry right back inside - it's enough to freeze your tushie!
Tulsa OK yesterday morning 12* wind chill -4* OK Patty you can have your weather back we do not like it here Patches does not seem to mind it too much she is a Long Hair .Buddy starts shaking when I put his coat on.
Kelly in Illinois here: Can't exactly remember what the temperature's been here in Northern Illinois lately! But it's mighty cold!!! My Mom and sister had to run an errand earlier this morning and the cold air was hurting their chests. Stay warm everybody and don't go out unless you absolutely have too!
We've actaully had some warmer mornings here in SLO. Low 50's in the mornings but it warms up to the high 70's in the afternoon. Very warmish for Winter. I'm a weirdo, as I LIKE wintry weather in the winter. It seems like summer around here.
Mark works at CMC (CA Men's Colony) a state prison. VERY old building that has an antiquated heating system. Y'can't just dial in a temp, you have to turn the thing on and it just goes and goes. Either it's ON or OFF and an attendant has to throw the switch. Well, apparently in Mark's ofc, he has some squeaky wheel people who say they're COLD when it's 65 degrees so the furnace goes on. and on and on. Mark said he was working in a tropical 78 degrees (INSIDE) all week. He has to run around in a T-shirt.....which has to be colored or black because y'can't look like an inmate....they wear white T's. Mark spends a lot of time in the file room because it's cooler in there and there in no vent blowing hot air down on him like he has at his desk.
Folks call SLO "Paradise" but we would welcome more rain and varied temps. See? I told you we were weirdos. Talking about retiring to rainy OR.....like Brookings or Cottage Grove. Or even sometime down the road getting a transfer to Pelican Bay, which is right at the border of CA and OR. Actually the main reason for that is so we can actually buy a REAL house and not live in a rent controlled MHP with a manuf. house that is sitting on a water basin and that shifts with the weather.
 If it makes you FEEl warmer it was 105F here yersterday adn TOOOOO HOOOT, but Amy still lizard hunted. We don't as a rule get these days to often and monday is to be another.

A bar in Anchorage had t-shirts made up that said Alaskans For Global Warming. I am trying to find one. I would love to have palm trees growing in my yard.
Meg and I were downtown Saturday and she captured a couple of pictures that show just how cold it has been here in the south. These fountains were both frozen over. They each had a little bit of water trickling, but that was about it. I love the frozen wall of water. It seems as if someone decided to add a little bit of green to it!

Hi Gail!
We have been up in bonnie Galloway and have now made it as far as Winter Hill, Bolton, stuck in snow again here and freezing. It´s a bit warmer today and there´s a little melt. Definitely not weather for crossing the Pennines! We´d love to catch up with you if we´re back here in the Summer when travelling is safer -mind you, the rate we´re going, we could still be here then......
Red and Islay would love meeting yours too!
Stay warm and keep those undercarriages well out of the snow!
Well we would love to see you at any time. You're right about the weather - you sure can pick your spots!! The roads are improving here in Leeds but it is still treacherous on the untreated side roads - it is definitely melting though and I can't wait to see the end of the snow!! Travel safely xxxx Love from Gail, Tristan and Ivy

It´d be great to see you on t´other side of the Pennines when we can. Tristan and Ivy would be fun to play with and it would be great to meet you "in person". ´We´ll keep in touch. Here´s to a quick melt and safer roads. Where did all the gritters go?
