Hubby went for his last visit with the neurosurgeon now has no insurance at all now will have to go to the VA not sure if they will do anything to care for his neck or not. The PA told us they would not touch his neck not Service related ? The neurosurgeon said if hubby falls from a standing position one time very likely he will be a Paraplegic if that happens which is very likely since he has Ankylosing Spondylosis which there is no cure for and it will only get worse with age. Also if you become a Paraplegic most are on ventilators some can & do get off of vents some do not ever get off. Then hubby is a very big man 6'2" about 280# they have to 24 hour nursing care, with both of us now on disability do not see how we could afford it.The hubby signed a Medical Directive back in 2005 stating he did not want any machines to keep him alive I signed one too but I had worked in hospitals for 31 years. Now I have to ask hubby what he wants to do if he still wants to go with the Medical Directive must pick a time when he is not watching football. Not sure how to bring it up I think he is depressed as it is with all that has happened to him.His bone graft never did take has air space between the graft and the bone not good. But the plate and screws are all where they are suppose to be,so that is good.Wish me luck on getting brave enough to bring it up with him.Its just a big mess I'm hoping he just won't ever fall again.
When it rains it poors, doesn't it. Rays for you and your hubby. Here hoping that he never faills. :xfinger: :comfort: Do let us know if you ever need anything.
