Title: Uh oh, I think Tris has been possessed by the spirit of Holly!!!!!!
Post by: Gail on December 14, 2009, 09:29:35 AM
Well here it is, my previously very well behaved (ahem) sweet baby boy bust out of jail today when I went to work!! Holly couldn't have pulled off a better move herself!!

I moved into a new house this past week and there is a catflap - Tris has been using one for a long time back at home so he knows what he is doing. Only, this catflap opens out onto the driveway of the new house which is not enclosed. Soooo, I locked the catflap when we moved in and have been encouraging the little guy to ask to go out of the patio doors into the back garden.  LOL, well his first attempt was to try to nudge open the patio doors like a giant catflap which wasn't a success but he has been doing a very good job of letting me know when he wants the door opened.

Anyhow, off I went to work this morning, leaving a puppy pad by the patio doors and planning a trip home to take a walk with him at lunchtime since I am not far from work to home.  I was in a meeting when the phone rang with an emergency call from the estate agent (luckily the Sold sign is still up outside of my house and they have my cell phone number) - Tris had been spotted stopping traffice and causing a jam in my little street!!!!!!! Thankfully one of my lovely new neighbours popped out to see what the fuss was all about and Tris came with him without too much resistance (the neighbour is in the police so I think this counts as Tris's first arrest).  Little beastie boy had managed to unlock the catflap and squeeze his considerable self through the small cat flap and off to his adventures.

When I rushed home I found him like a puppy being held incarcerated in a large cardboard box with a nice blankie (donated by the neighbours little boys) in it.  I didn't have to post any bail to get him out since it is his first offence (that we know of!!! Maybe he was using little Hols as a scapegoat in his masterplan all these years???).

He is now sleeping by my side, mission accomplished - mum is home and under his full control again. Help me please, I am being outwitted (yet again) by doximonster - I can only imagine that he has been possessed by the wickedly humoured spirit of Holly and I am now to be tortured in perpetuity by his change in character from loving, sweet little baby who hated to get into any trouble to adventure seeking, street walking hooligan!!

Thankfully all is well that ends well, the door will have to be sorted out tonight..........

.......oh and his barking retrained me last night into taking his crate from the kitchen up to my bedroom in the hope of retaining good relations with the neighbours in the adjoining house that I have still to meet ......."oh hello, yes I am from the house next door with the incessantly barking dog...."

Looks like he has learned a lot over the years.  Obviously he feels your pain in losing Holly and has to replicate her bahavior so you don't miss her so much.

I think it would take more than a little toot--I'd drink the whole bottle.

The greatest part the traffic stopped for him and he did not get hit by a car my heart would have been in my mouth the whole day.Hope you nail the cat flap shut with two x fours on both sides. Now they he got out that way he will be very detriment  to get out that way again.
Good Luck on keeping him in he most likely had a great day visiting everyone in the neighborhood Remember allot of exercise will help make him be too tired to try and leave again I would hope.

Gail!  Long time, no hear!   How have you been?  You really didn't have to come back to us with news of Tristan's great escape - that could have been eased into somewhat, eh?  Since last I "spoke" with you, I lost sweet little Gretl and Siglen, that you met at DD's and Al's, and now I have Brekke, Robinton, Rowan, and Bastian.  Brekke is a longhair chocolate/tan mini, and the latter three are red smooths, and the boys are dapples.  Brekke and Rowan, the girls, are eight, Bastian is 9, and Robinton is 7 or 8.  Don't be a stranger!
Cead mile failte!

Tris - behave for your mama, and no more breaking out like my boys did this past summer!

Silly boy !!!!  Wonder if some of the duo's antics were REALLY started by him ?????   I smiled at his antics (after breathing a big sigh that he was ok !) - I hope you did too....  :comfort:
