Sammy
Today is the day (Decmenber 8th) that you entered into the DRNA foster program. Skinny, scared and ill mannered...but look at you today. You are absolutely beautiful, and such a loving baby. I told you right off the bat that I could not keep you forever and you accepted that. You were a little hard to deal with around this house, but I understood what you had been through. I did a decent job of socializing you, a good job of getting you healthy, (a little too healthy LOL) and a poor job of training you. I'm sorry I let you down in that area, I've learned from that mistake and I now concentrat on correcting that issue with all my other dogs.
I certainly did do one thing correctly though....I promissed I'd find you a good home, well, I didn't find you a good home, I found you a GREAT HOME. Personally, I don't think you could find a better Mother and Father if you tried. Buddy you have landed in butter. I know, I know, you were scared to death when I got in the truck and left. I'm sorry it had to be that way but I have other dogs, not as Blessed as you, that need my help. I explained all this to you many times. I couldn't keep you but it was a great Honor to get to spend time with you.
You be a good boy and mind your Mother and Father.

Thank You for taking such good care of Sammy. I want you to know that you set the standard for all the other adoptive parents. I've not worried about Sammy for one second, but I still miss the little bugger. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask.
Love, your God Father.

Thank you for remembering Sammy on this special day for him. He is such a wonderful addition to our family. We are so grateful to you for rescuing him. It is hard to imagine Sammy scared and skinny because he is now a big boy with gorgeous shiney fur and lots of confidence. He loves going for walks, playing with his brothers, chewing toys, eating, and most of all snuggling with his Mum and Dad. Sammy truly deserved a second chance, and you gave him that. Rest assured that Sammy will always be safe and loved with us.

Awesome - Super Awesome !
Sammy, you are very handsome and you look wonderful in your new home! :thumb:
Sammy, you just melt my heart. I hope you don't mind that you are my cover boy on my computer at work today. I've already got lots of compliments on your cuteness.
he weighed a whole 16.8 lbs when he came to me, but He was closer to 28 lbs when I took him to Ohio. Sammy is a standard dachshund so he's big overall.
Thats another thing I no longer do, no free feeding, no open bowl. They get breakfast and dinner, 10-15 minutes to eat, you don't eat you go hungry.
He really looks so sweet and very confident now.
