Its Finnegans 1st birthday on December 10th and i was wanting to make him his own little cake. Does anyone have any recipes that they have tried and liked? Im going to look online too.. But i would feel better if someone has a tried and true one they like.
ALSO, Fin loves peanut butter and its the only thing that makes him happily go into his crate. Is organic PB ok, or should i be buying the "doggie" stuff from the people who make Kongs?
Here is a cake recipie from Three Dog Bakery (Cookbook) that we've used.....
"Let 'Em Eat Cake"
Makes 8 devouringly good slices of pawty cake!
2 cups water
1/4 cup mashed banana
1/8 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 Tbsp honey
3 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup dried bananas
1/2 Tbsp baking powder
Frosting:
8 oz low fat cream cheese
3 tsps carob powder
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, mix together water, bananas, vanilla, egg and honey. In a separate bown, combine flour, dried bananas and baking powder. Mix thoroughly. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well. Pour into an 8 inch greased cake pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
To make frosting, beat all ingredients together in a small bowl until smooth. Spread over cake and decorate it with pieces of crushed dried banana. Store in an airtight container.

Porky eats organic and regular peanut butter with no problems. He is known for his sensitive tummy issues and has never had an issue with "human" peanut butter. Just make sure you brush his teeth shortly afterwards to make sure his teeth don't get plaque buildup from the peanut butter. I can't believe Fin is 1 already!!! Where did the time go?!
Any kind of meatloaf type mixture will work you can add carrots, green beans ,using cream cheese as frosting.
OOoOoooo Thanks guys!!
I KNOW Porkys mom! I cant believe it!!! Yesterday i had to buy him the adult version of his food and it made me sad! My little munchkin. AND we had to weigh him and he is 12.2 lbs!! The little fatty!!!

Don't feel bad, Porky has gotten...well...porky lately too. He weighed in at 11 pounds!!! He has always been at 9.5 or 10 at the highest. He's not happy about the diet thing now. I remember how I felt when Porky turned 1, it was exciting, but I truly wondered how it happened so fast. Now he's 4.5 years old!!! I hope Fin loves his cake!!!
