:2funny: A Tickle!! :chairfall: At least I think that's what the owner of a little long haired black and tan said. They were older Chinese folks, so don't even begin to ask me about their accent or the rest of the conversation. :dontknow:
And they were "tickled" when I told them, "J'ais catre tickles." (Which is "I have four doxies!")
Miss my Herd - they are all in good hands and having fun. So am I!
Love to all from gay Paree! :nana:
Auntie Karen on International Dachshund watch.
Oh my Karen! You are in PARIS?? Right NOW??? NO FAIR! We are going to want a million tons of photos of course and I sure hope you got a photo of that little black and tan longhaired tickle or you will have some 'splainin' to do! Have a wonderful trip!
Ooh, la-la! I was just reading about Le Tour Eiffel yesterday to my kiddos whilst reading "The Maze of Bones" in the series: The Thirty-Nine Clues. I found a good piccy on the Internet showing construction of the tower, and then one from a distance showing the perspective. Laissez le bons temps roulez!
Paris!!!!???? I'm jealous! Have a wonderful time.
:2funny: I bet it sounded that way-sure made me giggle at the thought, considering how they like their belly rubs, but I think they were saying "teckel". Dachshunds are referred to as teckels or dachels in parts of europe.
Love the idea of a "tickle", very cute. Maybe we should be Spanish Tickles and not teckels...
Teckel is actually the correct breed term. Dachshund is a made-up word invented by the Brits who didn´t quite catch the names right when Albert, Queen Victoria´s consort, made the breed famous in the UK. The original German is Teckel; a badger is a "Dachs" and dog is "Hund" so the Brits ended up with Dachshund! Slang for teckel in German is "Dackel", particularly common usage in the South of Germany.
If you care to look up Teckel Club on google you´ll see the breed association pages throughout the world.
Off to tickle a teckel or two.
