Title: Old Dogs CAN learn new tricks-UPDATE
Post by: Madderoos Mom on October 03, 2009, 03:39:38 PM
Hooray!  Maddie is learning to sleep in her little crate!  And the Melatonin that Dr. Winkler suggested really seems to be working along with the SAMe that is supposed to help with the senile brain.  So now we have 2 crates in the bedroom and I have left both open.  The only problem is, this morning, I found little Roo snuggled up in a blankie OUTSIDE of the little crate and Bonnie smooshed inside of it.  Bonnie seems to think that she can dictate who sleeps where......and so far, she's right. I thought about closing Bonnie's crate but then again, there are TWO crates, so Maddie can also just go into the available one, unless she likes sleeping on the floor.   Anyway, we hoomans are sleeping much better and didn't even have to wear our earplugs last night.  Yay for Madderoo!  Give the ol' girl a paw!

How do you think they would cope with a bed big enough for two, so they could snuggle.

I'm so glad to know progress is being made! I think the bed for two is a good idea, and much softer than the floor. It would take up less room than two crates! Might be worth looking into.
