I remembered to check the site that Tara was doing updates on for Katleyn and she is doing great!!! The best part of all is this-instead of only being able to get 25% correction, they were able to get 68% correction and use the rods to strengthen the spine. She has before and after pictures on the site and it is amazing. Katelyn gets to have food today and is in her own room now, so she is progressing well.
Here is the site again where you can get updates, leave a message in the guestbook for Katelyn and see the photos.

Marvellous news. We´ll keep those rays and prayers coming. Brave little lady.
Wow - awesome !
Wonderful news!!!!!!!!!! That is fantastic!!!!! Many rays and prayers still on the way for a speedy recovery
That's GREAT news!!!
Thank you all soooooo very much for all the rays & prayers... I am amazed at how different she looks already... She has grown a few inches (overnight... lol), she now stands almost as tall as I do... She was 5'2" Friday morning in pre-op, and I am 5'7", she hits me at my forehead.... :apls: We are looking at going home tomorrow... Neither one of us can wait.. I think she will rest alot better once she doesn't have them nurses bugging her every couple hours... lol Thanks, Teresa for updating for me... I haven't had much time until now to really do much... So, I am taking a breather.... Ahhhhhhh... Ok, that's over now.... lol Time to go take Katelyn to the garden area in a wheelchair and take a couple pics... Philip told me that my EmmyLou is really missing her mama... Poor baby... Thanks again to all of you... You are all wonderful!!!! *hugs*

I'm sure she will feel much better at home. It will also be nice to be able to have her friends visiting and helping relieve the boredom. I didn't even think about her getting taller! New clothes may have to be bought...
I'll be looking for pictures once she is home.
That was really an amazing news! Sending more prayers for her fast recovery..
We are home.. :headbang: Katelyn was released this afternoon. And, although it was a long (3 hours) ride home, she hung in there. She even fell asleep about 20 minutes before home, but, she was really perky when we got here.. I haven't seen her that perky in days, I am sure coming home helped out alot.. And, the best part, I don't have to cook dinner for a few nights... My best friend and some other ladies from her church are bringing us dinner to help out.. That will be very helpful.. :thumb: I will still be updating her webpage everyday.. Thanks again for all your prayers, you guys are the best...
I'm praying for Katelyn's continued improvement. Sounds like things are going very well.
Holy cr@p, man!!! I can relate to that surgery stuff even though mine wasn't nearly as extensive, I can boast about a titanium plate and six titanium screws in my neck, above my collar bone. Did Katelyn have any hardware installed? Sorry, I have not followed the whole story.
Please give her a hug from me, and I wish her all the best. I'm so glad they were able to help her. Yikes!
