Hi, all! Mocha's mom is my friend, Brenda, who posts here occasionally. Her Mocha is the niece of my Brekke. She is having a 5 to 7 hour operation tomorrow at USC to remove a piece of artery with a balloon-type swelling - which could pop at any time, according to her cardiologist, another specialist, and the surgeon. Her operation is slated for 7:30 a.m., and they will use some dacron in the repair, and we would appreciate any and all rays, prayers, positive vibes, and good thoughts - thanks!
Tons of rays and prayers for Brenda and for the doctors and surgeons who will be caring for her!! Rays and prayers for all who love her as well. Please let us know how things go as soon as you're able. :comfort:

Rays and prayers definitely coming her way. My cousin's son, who is 20, has a disorder where his arteries will do this quite often. He has had many surgeries, some more serious than the others. He has always come out fine, but the wait for the family is always hard. Hopefully her recovery will be quick and she'll feel back to normal in no time at all.
Sending HHHHHH's :comfort: & PPPPPP's  for Brenda to get well soon!!!!!!

Sorry I am late in posting this update - have spent much of the afternoon and evening calling around the country to update friends and family on my list of whom to call...
She was taken to surgery an hour earlier - 6:30 a.m. - since she was there, so 6 hours total, from what I understand. The surgeon discovered very small auricles (upper chambers) in her heart, and 50 points lower blood pressure in her legs than in her upper body. From the way her sister explained it, those also caused less air capacity. The surgeon removed the ballooned area, and apparently was able to adjust the air capacity because of some repairs he did to the auricles, and thereby it adjusted her blood pressure so that all her body has readjusted and has equal pressure! She'll be in hospital 10 days, and we'll find out more about her recuperation in days to come! Her sister asked me to thank all of you for your care and concern!
Thanks for the update. Sounds a mammoth undertaking for the surgeons and very successful. We´ll keep those rays coming along for Brenda´s speedy, full recovery and comfort for her family and friends as they help her through the spell in hospital.
Rays on the way for Brenda... I hope she recovers quickly and is out of the hospital soon...
Tell Brenda we are thinking of her and keeping good thoughts for a smooth recovery :comfort:
I am, and I have - and guess what? All the dachsie rays are powerful enough (but we knew this!), to cause her to get the last tube out today, to be in none of the extra pain she's been in since a burning pain hit all day yesterday, and therefore, her doctors are planning to release her to come home tomorrow!!! :headbang:
Dachsie rays are powerful stuff. Thanks for the great news. We´ll keep them coming from sunny Spain for an easy transfer home and continued perfect recovery.
:apls: :apls: I am so glad everything turned out so well for Brenda!!! YEA!!!
Just saw this. Hope everything is continuing in a good direction for Brenda!
