Seeing Merions photos and hearing about Millie got me to looking up Hallie's first show photo. We had so much fun that day she would have had a perfect score but she always does this really fast complete spin when we do a right turn...I have no idea why I never taught it to her but she does it every time. I love it because not only is it cute but it shows enthusiasm but the judge this day took off TEN points for each spin and we had done three right turns so thirty points off which gave us a 170 which is as low as you can go and still qualify. That meant she had a perfect score on everything else she did, I could see her taking some off for the spins but 10 points was a lot. I love this shot of Hallie she looks so widdle!
Here is an oldie of my Jessie girl in the ring. She had her breed Ch, Am and Can UD, plus 44 OTCH points, (then she had a disc problem so I retired her from the ring immediately), almost had her field Ch, earthdog and tracking. She was also a therapy dog and earned her herding certificate on ducks. She was #1 hound group in obedience in the US she was such a good girl and very sweet like Hallie. Hallie reminds me a lot of Jessie. Jessie was a standard, a slim 24 lbs. Hallie is only 12 lbs.
I love these pictures Dee.
Jessie and Hallie are beautiful dogs.
Do you remember who the judge was in the Jessie picture. He looks very familiar.
Merion & the ZZ's
Aw Hallie you were just jazzin' up the comp!!
Fins Dad and grandpa are both blue ribbon show puppers. The first pic was actually the picture that convinced my boyfriend to let me get Finnegan!
What a handsome Dad you have Fin! No surprise though as handsome as you are. Is he show quality Katie? Just wondering if you are interested in showing him?
When we were first talking to the breeder they were still unsure if they were going to keep Fin or not because he was such a beautiful puppy. But i guess the lady who shows their dogs said that his elbows stick out? (I personally see no elbow-stick-outage but what do i know) And i guess he could loose a lot of points for that?
But even when they brought the two puppies over (Fin and his brother Gilligan) they were trying to sway me towards Gill. But i feel in love with Fin right away. I think they still wanted to keep him.
I think he is stunning but of course i would. But we always get stopped by people who are commenting on how handsome he is. And other Dashie owners are always impressed with him and asking if i show him or are planning on it.
I've heard not a whisper of his deformed elbows.. ha ha
Ohhh Fin...well tell him my elbows stick out too. And that's the least of my problems LOL. It really is silly the importance we put on the little things. I love showing but I would never breed and I also never cared that much if we won or not even though my kids always did really well, the whole thing for me was doing something with my dogs that they enjoyed doing too and all three of mine loved showing especially Hallie the little ham. As long as they are healthy who cares if they don't fit the standard perfectly!
Yes love fin, have fun with him don't worry about elbows heads etc just be a proud mum. We had Amy's pup Ingrid, long story, but she was show standard (out here thats about approx $2000 of wooder), B/T mini longhair she died at 7 months of shakers disease (congenital) inside 3 days, so you never know what life throws at you, so as I say just love him and be proud of him.

Ha! I remember when you told me about her spinning! She looks so full of herself in that picture. What a good girl! And Jessie ... what a looker! Now that I'm trying to do this with Elli, I'm REALLY impressed with her 'stacking!'
Wow, Katie! Finn's dad is quite the looker!
