Title: The beach!
Post by: Dee Dee and Hallie on September 01, 2009, 12:32:53 AM
We just got home from the beach today. We took my niece to see my sister in laws new houses. We got some good walking time on the beach which Hallie and I love. We'll be going back with the horses (and Hallie of course) in a couple of weeks too. Hallie loves going to the beach with a herd of humans even more than with just Mom.

My hair passed the beach test...last month when we went to the beach my hair was a FRIGHT...all curly and frizzy and wild. I have since had it chemically straightened and it was amazing, even in wind and wet it stayed straight and smooth! I have fought frizzy curly hair all my life if anyone has frizzy hair that drives them nuts I would recommend Thermal Straight (you haev to find someone who is experienced with it).

We had to test Hallie's passion in the passion chair...she rated "loveable"!

Fantastic piccies and you all look gorgeous. Loveable is an understatement for Hallie though.

BTW: a fine time to tell me about Thermal Straight.  At just under 50 I have suffered from wiry, curly hair, frizzy in the humidity, forever.  It´s now cut to less than an inch long at the longest bit to get it (almost) under control.....if only I´d known!!!!!!

It was a wonderful day I wish we had a couple of days to just hang out on the beach. It is kind of sad to see her slowing down though she used to race and dig like a maniac in the sand and spin and be silly. Now she just trots along with us and has fun but no wild antics...sigh.

It's not too late S.T.! We are about the same age...you could grow your hair out and get it done. I don't think it's been around all that long they made it for the celebrities originally. It makes your hair so shiny and silky too not dry like you'd think it would. Here is a shot of my "better side" it normally doesn't have that big wave in it.

I'll also post a shot of my hair last month before I got it straightened, I looked so horrible that day I had to blur out my face LOL.

 love the four legged hunk next to you in the last one. The hair looks good, just make sure you condition it well all the time , my girlfreind had it done and afte a while it started to dry out a bit so she up'd the conditioner. I still thought you curls were cool, but that is said by someone who has had bold straight hair for life and would love a curl or wave.Ms H you look as if you had a great time, does you mum let you off leash on the beach, Amy and Oliver go nuts when we let them of running and tumbling...............Amy says see if you can find dead fish they are better than seagul poo poo and the smell lasts longer......... .just ask my mum.

Yes indeedy, Dee Dee, that beach hair pics is exactly as mine would be - actually lots better!  Mine grows outwards and not down.  The "better side" pic cracked me up.

Do you know how long the straightening effect lasts and what re-growth is like?  I´d be really interested in updates along the way.

It´s typical: I have really wiry hair which was naturally very light blonde and is now dark blonde with white and grey mixed in, I quite like the highlighted effect of the white and grey coming through and get asked how my hairdresser got the colour, but have fought with round brushes and hairdyers and straightening stuff all my life till now.  My sister is the only person in our family who has die-straight hair and has always spent a fortune on perming, bleaching and streaking it to make it curly and lighter.  I suppose it´s a case of "the grass is always greener...".

Don´t know if I could stand the curls till mine got long enough to straighten out.  I have just got used to being able to run my fingers through my half-inch to one-inch cut when before my fingers used to get stuck in the curls.

So glad Hallie and Islay don´t have this problem - or Red with his wire coat either.  Not to mention all thos shiny smoothies.  I´m coming back as a dachsie in my next reincarnation.

love
Andrea,
Red and Islay

LOL Roberta I love the four legged hunk too! Hallie and I are taking my niece out to the farm today and I will get to ride him and my neice will ride Laddie the old white arabian. Then we girls are going to hot tub and play in the river (after photo shoots of course). Rachel is still asleep on the couch right now at 10 am so we'll wait for her to open her little eyes, Hallie wants her up NOW.

Did your girlfriend have the thermal straight do you know? They told me my hair would stay silky and shiny (it's never felt silky in my life before it still seems like a wig to me!). My cousin and her sister have theirs done and theirs have stayed silky but maybe different hair has different outcomes? We'll see as mine grows out. LOL my step mom says the same thing, she has straight hair and would love it curly, I think if you guys had the curls you'd hate it it takes so much time and still looks like crud at least mine did I am not one to like to mess with my hair.

I do let Hallie off the leash at the beach she would never go more than a few feet from me, but I usually have her on I am more afraid some idiot will be out there with a loose large dog and if it ran up to us could scare Hallie off and I wouldn't be able to reel her in! But it's very private at my sis in laws here we didn't see another soul so she was off most of the time. I had my step mom hold her for me while I took a dip in the water (see pic) she is a bit nervous to hold her becasue she knows of all my stringent rules. I'm not sure which one was hoping I'd come back more!
Oh kids don't give Hallie any ideas about dead fish! Hee. We have enough with the doo doo.

Golly I'd love to see a pic of your hair Andrea.  They told me the straight will last 6-9 months sometimes a year. Your hair sounds curlier than mine so it may be different for you but I have hair like my cousins and you can't really see a big change in the grow out part on the top until it gets grown out quite a bit even then it's not real noticable I think the straight part pulls down the curls. I agree it would be a pain while growing out but I know you'd love the straight once it got long enough I am surprised at how silky it is.

LOL well I think Hallie could use some straightening too but I just tell her her coat is unique and adorable but it is not silky! Would love to see some pics of Red and Islay and you!

Thanks Cheryl how is ourr boy Winston today?

Wow, Dee Dee, 6-9 months with silky. smooth straight hair is unbelievable.  I´ve never, ever been able to run my fingers through mine - till now, that is, when it´s only an inch long at the longest part!   It´s a relief to have left the brushes and dryers behind and just towel dry.  Freedom at last!

I´m really not photogenic at all and tend to take the pics of everyone else.  I´ll see if I can find something fit for public consumption.  Wish I knew how to fuzz-out faces like you do.  Islay and Red are infinitely more attractive.  I´ve been lax taking pics recently but will look some out for you.

Islay is usually wonderfully slinky - except beach and bath days when she definitely gets windswept and fuzzy round the edges.

I've had bone straight hair my whole life.. Its BORING!!!

I have wanted curly hair since i was like two.

My hair has to practically be tortured into curls when i am desperate for them. And even then it only lasts about half and hour... :BangHead:
