Title: Fair
Post by: Dee Dee and Hallie on August 20, 2009, 10:56:23 PM
Hallie helped me and my friends man the art department at our fair today. She had a great time, and met some new "friends"! She is SUCH a good girl.  SHe also had to wear her doggles and visor when we were in the sun because of her iris atrophy...but of course it's also a fashion statement.  I also won her a blue frog at the arcades.... :apls:

Of course I am always on the lookout for a photo op of Hallie and some kind of "hot dog" sign...

Hallie is amazing...as usual!

Ha!  If that were Bonnie nose to nose with a goat, I think Nanny would have had a chunk out of her nose.  Bonnie, the lovable grump!

LOL Sandy Bonnie could teach Hallie a thing or two. One goat was making some very ominous gestures towards her and I think I heard some threats under it's breath! So we steered clear of that one. Bonnie could be Hallie's bodyguard!  :thumb:

What fun you pair had, and clever of mum to win you something. That goat did not look to friendly, and did you get a Hot dog after mum teasing you with the signs.

These are great! She really is a very good girl! I noticed you don't even have a leash on her to make sure she stays in the stroller. I WANT ONE LIKE HER!!!!!! Better yet ... can I have HER?!

Roberta she didn't get a hot dog (I tried but they weren't ready so we moved on) but she did help me eat a gyro! And teeny bits of elephant ear, the edges...I had a baggie full of healthy Hallie approved treats for the rest. Plus I had brought her dinner. I am on week three of being able to EAT!! After over a year of being totally miserable with this stomach thing, I started the drug from Canada and it finally kicked in and I am not 100% but feel a million times better and can eat again. What a relief. So it's very nice to be able to eat fair food I never could have done that even a month ago.  :hello2:

That was one of my favorites too Kelly it looks like she is going "Neener Neener"!

LOL Loki come on over! The goat in the first picture, I was taking their photo and when I was done I saw she was blowing big green snot bubbles out her nose...AAHH!!! I am still wondering if goat diseases can cross species...she was so cute though goats are so neat. Yes it's the brand name, doggles. Hallie's opthmologist recommended them as well as the visor so I don't take full blame for this particular outfit! She rarely has to wear them just if we are in bright sun and she can't get herself into shade if she wants to. I put them on the back of her head when we were indoors.

We had so much fun Cheryl she is fun to spoil because she enjoys everything so much it's fun to watch her be happy and content. One of the times I took her out the door into the grass by the tractors for a potty break and to stretch her legs, she pooped, as I was picking it up she started a "runny attack" (she was on her flexi of course) and she was zooming everyone she could get to, full boar with a big grin, you could almost hear her going "I POOPED, I POOPED!!!".

I hope you have fun at your fair klsb. Eat a corn dog for us we didn't get to do that (we are going back Sunday though..)

The goats are funny Amorette almost all of them reach over to sniff her very gently, it was just one or two that didn't look happy. My cousin just got two baby Nigerian goats we are going to go out and see them.

I wish we could send you a dog on a stick Darcel! :) Hallie says why do we have to suffer for fashion, she prefers the nekked look but she does put up with things well.

Ohhh Delia...you are making one like her! She WILL get there. I honestly believe she will go farther than you think. I used to have the leash on her religiously but after watching her in there and even with cats running by, etc, she just sat there and watched I felt I could trust her and haven't seen anything so far that worried me but I still keep a close eye on things. It's really harder to get her to come out than it is to get her to stay in. Well she's pretty much half yours anyway, and  if you LIVED here...there would be lots of sharing going on!

DD your goats reminded me of the time I was working a children's pet show for our Rescue Group and a friend and I were looking at the Llamas.  Well they began to hum and my friend asked the owner what they were doing, the response was that they were getting nervous and were ready to spit, well we took off pretty quick.

Oooh Marcia Llamas are nasty! They always seem to have their ears back and warning you to back off. I can imagine it's no fun getting spit on by one.

LOL Les grape juice just came out my nose!  :2funny: I feel great I honestly didn't think I ever would again, I would never had made it through that year plus if not for Hallie (literally), we're taking full advantage of both of us feeling good (for a couple of old fogies!) right now!  :thumb:

You are a lucky dog to be able to go to the fair as NO dogs are allowed at our fair, all those others animals are there BUT NO dogs can come other than the
4-H dogs!!!

There are no dogs allowed at our fairs either but Hallie usually does an obedience demo at our local one and I will work the art department one day so she gets to come in. At the state fair they asked me to judge the art this year (yikes, 1,086 paintings! We did that last weekend) and the also asked me to paint in front of everyone one day of the fair, they knew I wouldnt come without Hallie so they got her permission there too. I have yet to not have her allowed in a fair because we always are doing something but if we couldn't get in I woudn't go either.

Yes it is amazing with my stomach I feel human again 2 days ago I had PIZZA first time since the night before this hit over a year ago. I went many months barely able to get Ensure down and could barely function, now I feel great and can eat pretty much anything I want. I get full fast but I don't get sick anymore and I have tons more energy.  :hello2:

 Now all you have to do is take up cooking.........................you know that thing that sits in the kitchen and gets hot and you put pots on it.
Kidding aside that is the best news in ages other than Ms H...............

OH you mean when I forget what's on the stove and it catches fire and I smother the flames with the pots. Gotcha!  :angel4: LOL I have actually been doing more cooking...I always buy 2-3 times more than what I need because I WILL need it. When I made the ice cream cake for one  of Hallie's birthday partys, I needed 1/2 bag of chocolate chips and ended up using 2 full ones. (it got all CLUMPY...they don't have a trouble shooting section in cookbooks and no tech support in India even!). Luckily we've been at the fairs so much they have cooked for us this week... :thumb:
