I don't know how many folks here remember Wolfie from the Louisville Bow-wow back in the mid-90s, but he went to Rainbow Bridge this Monday morning. He was 16-1/2 and his kidneys were shutting down. We have a great vet and we all knew this time would come.
He was a real sweetheart (plus holder of the Louisville Bow-wow loudest barker award--a title he probably could have defended well even this year). I'm attaching the photo of him at the Bow-wow in his Texas Chili Dog costume and a shot of him performing his duty as "Office Dachshund". He will be missed.
Sorry to hear about Wolfie.
Sending HHHHHHHH's & PPPPPPPP's for your loss.
I know he is having a blast with all the others from the DC who have gone before him.

Aw, he's such a gorgeous boy! I am sorry for your loss - I can tell he was beloved, so remember the good times - try to forget those loud barks, though.
Oh dear! So sorry to hear about Wolfie. He was GORGEOUS! Our sympathies coming your way. You'll have great memories of Wolfie.
Our vet's office just did the nicest thing. They made a plaster cast of Wolfie's paw print and decorated it with little bones and his name and sent it to us with a Rainbow Bridge card that everyone in the office had signed and written comments about Wolfie. I don't know if anyone else has had such a caring vet experience, but we thought it was so nice of them. We've had to put down a horse and another dachsie mix in previous years and never gotten that kind of extraordinary gesture. I just thought I'd share, because I never expected it based on our past experiences with other vets.
Also, thanks to everyone who has wished us well and said nice things about Wolfie. It means a lot. :thumb:
What a sweet heart. I am so sorry for your loss. Wolfie sure lived a long good life though that is great. It doesn't help but it is always better when they go at an older age like that. God bless you and prayers to you and your family.
hugs and love laura and romeo
While Wolfie I can never be replaced, last Nov. we did get a new puppy. Sleepytime Irresistible Wolfgang Two has become a wonderful new friend. We got him from the breeder who had owned Wolfie I's father and two of Wolfie II's great-grandparents were Wolfie I's grandparents. He has an entirely different personality, but he is equally lovable.
Love the snow on the nose glad you did get another helps but does not replace those who have went on to the Bridge.Congratulations on the new pupper and Good Luck.
My sincerest wishes for a safe trip to The Bridge for Wolfie.
And Prayers for the loved ones he leaves behind.
God Speed little brother.
