Here they are: Rowan (female w/patriotic collar) and Bastian (male with turquoise collar).
We had some growling early on, but kids have settled down and Rowan is a snuggler, who is unsure of her new situation - but she really likes the food here, and Bastian is a bit more independent, but he also likes the food and is not too crazy about Brekke's barking - for some reason, she is intent on barking at him 90% of her barking time!

Natalie brought some of their old food with them, which we are already beginning the gradual change, and also an old quilt which they laid on, in her car, so they have a security blanket.
AWWWW how sweet! Those are some cute puppers!!! :thumb:
Aww congratulations, glad to hear they get along so well! Way to go guys. :thumb:
WOW!!!!!!!!! Welcome to the herd, you guys have landed in butter!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WIENERFUL!!!! Happy day for these lucky puppers. Kids, like Leslie says, you've landed in da butter! Have fun, Julia! And Brekke, you keep those kidz in line, y'hear?
Aw yay!!! Welcome home!
Welcome to the status of being a"Herd". The new babies look sooooo cute and sweet. Now we never have heard from Dr. Leaky about the official requirements needed to meet for the "Herd" moniker, but I am sure you now officially meet it. CONGRATS JULIA!!!!!
Darcel & Hilde
What sweethearts! Congrats, Julia
dis is Parker: I is so jealous. I wants a brudder and sister. Brekke is one lucky pupper to have such hansome brudder, and gorgeous sista.
And how does Mr. Robinton like his new sibs? They look adorable. Now you have a 4 pack of weiners too!
Hah! Robinton loves everyone and almost all critters! He loves having a brudder to play with, and the new sister is a snuggle bunny like he is, so at least I have two hands and two sides on which to snuggle! Did I ever tell you that Robinton likes to check on the 5 toads that patrol for bugs at night? Right now, Bastian has destuffed the patriotic ball we have had for a year, and tossed the squeaker aside, leaving all the stuffing and squeaker for Momma to pick up. The girls and Robinton are here with me, and I obviously need to check on Bastian again, since he is not here.
Four dachsies in the bed last night - and I know Bastian was on my right side, so methinks he likes to snuggle, too.
They are wonderful! Congrats Julia and Congrats to the kids they are two lucky new family members! More pics!!!!
Congrats Julia! Sounds like things are going well! Welcome to the Quad Club! My only advice would be that you purchase an oversize recliner!
Aw...the pitter-patter of 8 more feet! They are really cute and I love their personalities. I hope that's a king size bed! Enjoy!
I second the comments on the king size bed. We have 4 boys, and we bought a kind size bed right after our wedding. Cale and I joked about how ridiculous it is to buy an expensive new bed to accommodate the dogs. We are THOSE people! Sadly, the boys do not take full advantage of the big bed - they still sleep as close to me as possible.
Your new additions are very cute. I'm sure after a few days it will feel like they have always been part of your pack.
Such cute babies!!!! Porky's doggie dad was named Bastian Bow, so I'm partial to that name!! Give those cuties lots of kisses for me. They deserve them for being so darn cute!!!
Congratulations Julia...those sure are some cute babies you got there!!!!! So glad to hear everything is going well... hugs and kisses to The Herd!!!!
What sweet faces. Before long, you guys will have a routine and won't remember life without all of you - even Brekke will be proud to call them her siblings! Good for you, Julia. These babies couldn't have found a better forever home - and they didn't even have to be separated. That's great!
Awwwwww so sweet !!!! Can't wait to see pics of them all together ! Sooo glad you are a 4-pack now
Okay, we are back from my vet, having gotten their DHLPP shots, rabies to follow in a couple of weeks, and Bastian needs his big boy snip. The former vet faxed their records over while I was waiting, so we now have birthdays! Rowan Bella's is February 27, 2001, and Bastian Edward's is May 22, 2000. (Anyone recognize their middle names? I can't wait for New Moon to come out!)
Ha ha i DO!! Love it.
I plan on fighting my way through all the tween Twi-Hards to be there opening night.
Aw, congratulations Auntie Julia! Mom and I are happy to hear the new puppers are settling in with their family! I wish other dogs could live with us but evidently the only other pets allowed in mom's apartment are all the nasty wasps which somehow keep getting in. BOO.
xoxo,
SKOOTR
I love the names. It only took a second or two for me to figure them out. I have seen the movie, but haven't read the books (I promised Meg I would read them this summer-better get busy!).
I have a feeling you do not have to worry about ever getting lonely! Has Brekke gotten better with the barking and started accepting everyone?
I had to take Rowan in today for her rabies, because I didn't think I'd get out of Wednesday's meeting in time for her appointment that day. We had barely been home 8 minutes when I heard Brekke's growl, Rowan's shriek, and the boys barking, so I raced around the hall corner to see Brekke biting at Rowan! It stopped as soon as I called her on her behavior - do you suppose she was jealous that I took only Rowan, and she smelled differently? Brekke rarely barks at Bastian any more.
Btw, I met a woman at the vet's with a dark shaded cream or maybe a shaded red longhair, 7 months old, a littermate at home - she and her husband found the two abandoned sisters wandering in the mountains a month ago! AND, the man who did the warranty patch job on a tiny crack in the top coating on my new shower floor? He has a half dachshund/half Chinese Crested at home! I always seem to get service people who have or had dachsies or part dachsies.
