Title: PeePee pads
Post by: bridgetlouise on October 25, 2005, 10:46:34 AM
Ok, has anyone else had this experience?

Now that Bridget is feeling better, she gets a little more space in the living room while I'm at work.  I put a pee pee pad down for her, and (I caught her last night) she walks to the middle of the pad, hangs her hiney off the end and pees on the edge of the pad and the floor!  We end up with a relatively clean pee pee pad, and a puddle!  Good thing we have hardwood floors and a mop!  Because then she turns around and looks at me as if to say "See what a good girl I am?  Can I have some pizza now?"

Charlie would do the same thing when I bought the smaller size pads.  I finally bought large washable ones that give him more room to squat and haven't had a problem since.

Oh, cool.... I haven't seen the larger ones.... will have to look for them.  Thanks.  The look on her face is priceless.  Can't get mad at her because 1: she's too cute, and 2: she really is doing what she's supposed to!

At least she is kind of using them.  Sgt & Libby just shred them into a million pieces.

I put a pp pad out each night - my Brandy usually can't make it through the night and although we have a doggie door - who wants to go outside by yourself !!!!   I have come to the kitchen on several mornings and have seem the same little puddle right by the pad !!!!  HA !!!   Out comes the NAtures Miracle and the paper towels...and the pad is good to use that night !!!  I am just proud she goes to the kitchen to do her pp's !

I have had that same experience.  At least they are trying to hit the pad.  Minna thinks the pads are for her entertainment and will shred them into a zillion pieces.

The pads I use are washable ones.  Charlie never shredded the disposable ones but Abbie, my Golden Retriever, does.   :thinik:  I attempted to use disposable ones a few weeks ago as I still had a package of them from when Charlie and I moved to NY from D.C.  I guess they'll remain in the closet (for Charlie) until we move again.

You can get the washable "Pooch Pads" from Petsmart.  I use them and they are wonderful.  Expensive, but they are washable and last a long time.  Good luck.

Sounds like emma except her head is out the doggy door and the but is still inside, but she thinks she has gone out.

Schatzi will miss the pads some too. We always say that she is so long she doesn't know where she ends!! I've started getting the underpads made by Depends-well actually the offbrand. They measure 22 by 30 inches and cover more space and are usually around 6 dollars for 18 so much cheaper. The only difference is they don't have the "special" scent on them.

Ozzy used to do the same thing, but has gotten much better at hitting the middle.
