I gots a question for da puppers who get to be in da BIG bed... How do your hoomans keep fwom wolling ober on you in da night???? If you sleeps at da bottom of da bed, please diswegard dis question.
Me and mama hab a kewl system werked out. I "sweep" in my big boy bed until about 2 am. (I gets lonesome!) Den at 2 am my mama wakes up (wif help) :grin: and puts me in da big bed. I lay down wif my back against her tummy and chest and my head on her arm. I make her hold me. Den, she cobers us bof up and makes sure we're scooted away fwom my daddy. Daddy wolls around like a cwazy dude and sleeps so hard he would neber know iffen he laid on me by accident. :doah: Den when mama's ready to roll ober on her odder side, she wakes up, and scratches da bed (on da side I'm supposed to go to). When I hears da scratching, I climb ober mama and snuggle back in. Den wez bof can sweep wifout habing to worry about me gettin squished. :headbang: Sometimes, I like to be a stinker and pwetend I'm too tired to move, den mama moves me herself.
Once we get daddy off to werk in da morning (at 4:30am!) we like to go back to bed for an hour. Dis is da bestest time, because I can "sweep" on daddy's side and put my head on his pillow. Sometimes, iffen its cold, I'll drag da pillow unda da cobers and sleep wif my whole body on it. :apls: Jus' don't tell daddy, he doesn't know dat. :thumb:

I used to sleep all curled up against Mom; I'd go over to the little bit of bed between her and the edge and poke her with my snoot until she'd make room for me (why sleep on the big empty side of the bed when I can take the opportunity to remind her who's boss?). Then I'd snuggle in and she'd put the blankets (and sometimes, irritatingly, her arm) over me and that's how we'd sleep.
But now I have my very own pillow and that is where I sleep because it is WAY softer than her bed mattress. I think she misses me being next to her, because now she'll lay on her other side and mess with me while I'm trying to sleep. (MOOOOOOOM!) I tolerate it, because I am as generous of spirit as I am handsome of face, but I'll still give her a good grumble to remind her that some peace and quiet would be appreciated, and it's only because of my good nature that her hijinks are allowed.
It sounds like you have a very good system worked out, Porky Pie! I commend you on your resourcefulness and skill in training your mom. :wink:

We sweep next to momma, right up against her away from daddy. When momma wants to turn ober she does and we just settle in smack against her again. Momma startz out on da front and den rolls on her udder side. We wuvs sweeping next to mom!!! Zoe and Winston

I have some competition for prime bed space with my 3 brothers, but I am little and wiley enough to squeeze in somewhere. Usually, my mum sleeps lined by dogs on both sides. Mum and Dad never roll on me. Neither of them move a lot in the night, fortunately for little me. If I can't find an opening to get under the covers, which greatly displeases me, I sleep on mum's pillow right next to her head. She likes it. Who wouldn't? I think she also likes waking up with a crick in her neck the next day. Then she can think of me all day at work while her neck hurts! Porky Pie, your system impresses me. My mum needs more training, and I will get right on that!
Well, we are getting remodelling done here - Momma is having both bathrooms redone. When we sleep on her big bed, there is plenty of space and no worries. When we sleep on the little bed (cause right now there is a huge mirror on the big bed!), Brekke sleeps on the covers, at the bottom, and I sleep against the wall, cause Momma always sleeps in the middle of the right side of the bed, so I got plenty of space. I tend to wake up in the same position I fall asleep in so I have not worried too much about rolling over the child but thankfully we don't have a "daddy" to worry about :thumb: If'n we did I guess he'd have to sleep on the floor!
I'm a tosser and turner, but I wake up just enough to carefully maneuver around four dachshunds and one c-a-t sleeping in the bed with me. Murphy sleeps plastered to me, and the rest take up random space on the bed. Kitty sleeps next to my head.
Parker sleeps in his crate until about midnight. That's usually around when I get up to use the bathroom. Then we both crawl into a freshly made bed in the spare room and sleep for the rest of the night. My husband would definately roll on him, and his snoring keeps us both awake through out the night, so this seems like the best solution.

Oscar, I think any smart human would LOVE sharing their pillow with an adorable Dachshund! Not to mention appreciate having an all-day reminder of their happy time snoozing with their beloved furkid nearby...
Your mum is clearly a woman of very good taste.
