Title: Kickstand or Leap Frog...
Post by: klsb on June 08, 2009, 11:39:38 PM
So Fin still pees like a girl... and is not one... obviously..  :idiot:
I have heard that alot of male puppies dont start lifting their leg till thery're older.. Fin is six months.. and although thats still young, Dads is wondering if he's ever going to "buck up"
Then we were also wondering if male dashies even did in general? In reality they are only lifting their leg like.. two inches..
Sooo does anyone have any insights on these pee pee ponderings?

P.S as i write this Fin is RACING as fast as he can aross the room, bouncing off the bathroom door then racing back to leap onto the bed, where he lays quitely till i turn to look at him then he is off again.

Dis is Oliver  Mr O to some, yes we do lift our leg not all that high, but we do lift it. Mind you it took me till I was nearly two to work it out, and I had Angus to show me how.
Mr O
Olivers mum here, yes he was a late developer, and when he lifts his leg sometimes it looks as if he is going to fall flat on his face. He only started marking on walks the other year. so take heart your little man will get there, remember he has been watching his (four legged mum thought I ought to clarify which mum) mum since birth

Parker is 2 this month. He still pees like a girl, but I noticed this year he is lifting his leg, put only at the puppy park where there are other dogs, and lots of scent.
I had a Jack Russel for 15 years and he never learned to lift his leg.

Fin: don'ts worry about daa neuterin. Its to make sures ya can have funs without payin da puppy support. You gets lots of tweets, huggles and cuddles, and if you play your cards right and looks real pathetic, your momma will spends lots of times with ya. She will sits up all nights wif you.
I don't weally remember mines, I was so young, and da bweeder got me sorted out so my new owners wouldn't    break the bweeding contract.....whateber dat is.

AHEM . . .

Merlin and I were four years old and happily living the joyous life of "intact" males, marking everything in sight, until we ran afoul of the pupper police.  After we took the heartworm cure, we were summarily "fixed" in spite of never having been broken in the first place!

I am happy to report that we still enjoy leg lifting at every possible opportunity, indoors or outdoors.

Oddly, Auntie Karen seems to come unglued at us whenever she catches us in flagrante (in the act), and are only allowed closely supervised visits to her boudoir.

The reality is that neutering at their age was WAY too late to make a difference.  So,while I am commited to them and love them dearly, they are currently living in the doggie yard.  It's not the best life for them, but I just can't take any more peeing on my bedstead, bookcases, walls, Guinness, doors, and blanket.

Be glad e is not lifting his leg boys lift there legs are more prone to marking in the house and every where else.Plus anyone that has a boy dog can a test to this they have a secret compartment that even vets do not know about so they can always have some pee stashed back for marking.
Buddy a male Doberman who is three years old does not lift his leg he was never around male dogs only females so he never learned how.He is about 98# and 30-31" at the shoulder so do not think anyone will make fun of him.He was fixed at 6 months old on contract from breeder. Like it Patches does not get watered not unless she go under him nothing in the house gets marked its great.Papbouv
