Ozzy will sit and "stay" while I walk into another room, almost to the point where I can disappear from his sight. :apls:
He also goes into his large kennel, on the "Ozzy, kennel" command.
I was thinking about enrolling in obedience classes at one of the two pet store chains in town, but Amy (and, Ozzy is, technically HER dog) disagrees. According to her, teaching him commands other than ones to keep him safe, would be exploitation!! HUH?????
When I worked for the animal rescue group the three of us office staff took our dogs to a 6 week training class. I took Eddie because Sully Angel did not do well with other dogs. We only lasted 4 weeks because Eddie hid under a chair the whole time because the other dogs(a pit bull and two big shepherds) scared him. Well, Eddie did learn to sit and come, but that's about it. Sully angel however learned more by my home training. One day I put him in a sit stay and walked out of the room ten minutes later I came back and poor Sully was still sitting there(I had forgotten about him).
Congrats !!!! My two do not do well with commands - HA !!!! Thats an understatement !!!! Sit stay.....errrr.......ONLY if there is a blankie and they are rolled up in it !!!! I laugh - but it is my fault - I let them get away with murder ! Good job Ozzy !
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! My dogs know one command each. Buelah will "sit pretty". Oscy will "jump all around" and Toby....will run like the wind when I say "food"!
Yep...that's about it. I tried to teach Oscy to roll over but he gets onto his back with his feet in the air and decides he's not going all the way over. It's more fun to lay with the feet in the air and give me "the face" until he gets his belly rubbed!
Mama and I are obedience school DROPOUTS ......... but we can go back any time we want to for free .... for life!
I do one thing when asked ....... when Mama says "Where is Ellie's belly?" ..... I roll over and show it to her.
