Title: Who says dogs can't tell time?
Post by: scootersmom on June 04, 2009, 07:32:46 AM
I woke my mom up this morning ONE MINUTE before her alarm went off.  Ha!  This is what she gets for making my gums bleed when she was cleaning my teeth last night.  (harrumph!)

On a related note, I have an appointment with Doctor Vet Dentist Man on Monday morning.  Not because of last night or anything, but I still do not like it.  That man may seem mild-mannered and harmless, but he KNOCKS YOU OUT and STEALS YOUR TEETH!  Evil!  And tricky!  I hope this is not what will happen to me again.

Fretfully yours,
Skootr

Hello Porky Pie!

Yes that is exactly what he does!  And then my mom gives him monies, and he doesn't even give my teeth back to us!  I suspect an Evil Plot of some sort.

Thank you for the kind words; I do not feel very brave when I go to the Dentist, but I will try to be!

*gasp*

Brandy!  They stole your teeth too?  This is SCANDALOUS!  Clearly there is a thriving black market for Dachsie teeth.  But what for?  Do our precious incisors and molars and canines have secret medicinal properties?  Are they being auctioned off as jewelry or treasures?  Why do humans do this?

*frown*

On the bright side, do you get yummy canned food like I do since you got your teeth stolen?

Hey, this does not bode well for us!  The vetted woman we saw yesterday - and squeezed our butts!- told Momma that we both need our teethies cleaned soon.  Oh, woe is us!
We feel your pain, Scooter.   Btw, our momma met your momma at Auntie DD's before we came along.  Do you still like the music from the 60s and 70s?   Lub, Brekke and Robinton

The Doctor Vet Woman squeezed your butts?  That seems INAPPROPRIATE.  I do not approve!  Poor Brekke and Robinton - I hope you got lots of treats for suffering this indignity!  And I hope that you don't get your teeth stolen - BE VERY VIGILANT.

Oh!  And my mom remembers your mom definitely!  Those were Fun Times at Auntie DDs.  She even remembers when your mom first met you, Brekke.  And yes, she still loves her old timey music, and will sing it all around the house.  Lucky for her I am a very patient boy.  *sigh*

We hope everything is going well with you!  It is so good to see you here!

Sophie knows that when your teeth get stolen, you get Luxury Food for a while.  Luxury Food always has GRAVY, which is one of her favorite things.  And, the plus side is that then the tooth doesn't hurt any more.  Sophie broke a tooth recently, and is due for a cleaning, so I'm taking her tomorrow to the vet for the dental, and removal of the broken tooth (we have no idea what she could have broken it on).  Sophie genetically doesn't have great teeth to begin with, so we have to keep an eye on them fairly close.  But, we have plans to give her soft food with gravy when she comes home from the vet's.  Because her teeth aren't great, and kibble can be tiring, we supplement her hard kibble with a "moist" food, which we call "Rubber Foods" (she knows the term & comes running when you say it).  But she'll likely be on soft foods for a few days after tomorrow.  Scooter, we hope that you just come home with a mouthful of bright clean white teeth with none of them stolen!

Oh man your mom PAYS the guy to take your teefs? What the....is up with that? We need our teefs for bitin' and eatin'! Do they give you anything in return for those teeth? Like maybe your BOY BITS back now that would be something. Why must they keep cuttin' and yankin' things from us we was born with? Your vet must know mine because I gets my butt squeezed every three weeks too...and not only that but they also stick a needle...yes a NEEDLE under my skin! Like the kind you sew buttons on with. It's just another form of torture but they can't make me talk! Stay strong to the cause Scooter, dont let them break ya! I'd make the cat take a small bite of that soft food first too just to be sure it's safe to eat.

Deb let us know how Sophie does we'll sure be thinking of her (and you) tomorrow. You are right about those teeth some just seem to lose them so much easier than others.

Quotei hope they is not a pervert likes yours is

Sophie!

How was the V-E-T visit?  Are you on Luxury Food?  Also, I am going to tell my mom I should be getting GRAVY.

Yes she does.  *shakes head*  Clearly my mom has some sort of learning deficiency.  Amazing, what we put up with, to live with these humans, isn't it?  I cannot believe your vet tries to sew buttons on you!  You are cute enough without buttons.  Do you want me to come up there and pee vindictively on the vet for you?  Probably not - you are a kind and generous spirit and your vet may really be an okay person besides these few quirks she has.  Still: BOO for any pain and trauma!  Hopefully you get lots of treats afterwards.

I will say my mom has been spoiling me in a very appropriate fashion the last day or so.  I may yet forgive her...

Thank you!  Mom has, indeed, been giving me lots of mushy treats since I've been home.  I think she feels guilty.

Not that I'm complaining, mind...   :thumb:

Sophie managed the visit to the Vet's last Friday just fine, but several teeth were stolen.  The broken one was taken, and then ALL of the small teeth on top between the canines were lost (she lost all the ones on the bottom between the canines several years ago as they were growing OUT, not up).  They had to take the little teeth (perhaps 6 of them?) because the gums were receding on them, which is an invitation to infection.  I had thought she might lose them, as her eyes had been extraordinarily runny the past month or so.  That evening, she wanted first, the Luxury Food with GRAVY, since she'd not had a bite to eat all day.  And then, she wanted to curl up and sleep on my lap, under a blanket.  She was a bit groggy on the outside trip before bed, but she did it.  She has been on Luxury GRAVY food since then, and is now back to crunching crunchy kibbles as well as her Rubber Foods.  Her eyes are not nearly as runny, and she shows signs of feeling better than ever--excitement, twirling, and playfulness.  The vet had told us a while back that she would probably lose the front ones, so while I had hoped that she could keep them, it wasn't a big surprise that she didn't.  She was a very good girl throughout it all.

Oh wow, Deb!  I had no idea this was a symptom.  I shall have to keep an eye out for it with Scooter.  Thank you!  (although he does get eye goobers pretty regularly.  Always has...)

Glad to hear Sophie is feeling so much better!  And crunching on kibble again?  I am impressed.  Yay!

If you need someone to pee vindictively, Oscar says, "You can count on me.  I love to pee vindictively to torture my mum . . .  I mean sometimes I accidentally urinate in the house."  Freudian slip.

Well THAT makes me smile! That is great news Deb hate to hear she had to lose more teeth but as long as she is feeling good now that's wonderful.
