Post by: Leslie on May 24, 2009, 09:51:09 AM
iz delicious." sez Loki.  :angel4:

Yikes, I watched her pick this thing up from a distance, then do the shoulder roll on it.  Just as I got to her with my gloves and a cookie I watched SOME legs go down her gullet.

Oh well, whatcha gonnna do?  (and yes, Rich, I thought of Stormy.  It was nowhere near as big as the bird he ate, but chikken egg sized, at least.)

You are a smart cookie to eat while the eating's good! :thumb:

I managed to eat a whole half a squirrel before Auntie Karen saw me and made me drop it.  I tried to run past her and dart onto her bed, but she screamed so loud I dropped it.  I guess it was O.K.,'cause I ate all but the back legs and the bushy tail. :feedme:

And THEN she threw it away.  Wasted a perfectly good tail, if you ask me.

Nobody asked you!

Party pooper!

I just don't know how they do it! It can't taste good! But, then ... I guess it does or they wouldn't do it. Loki, girl, brush your teeth.

Our little Oscar just got a mole last week.  He didn't actually consume it, but he chewed it up.  I know dachshunds love it, but I hate the idea that my precious little boy who sleeps in bed with me is maiming and killing animals in our back yard!

Gack. WHY ...do they do that? You have to wonder, does their instinct take over and while the bird is going down the domesticated part of their mind is screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There just can't be anything good about that experience!

What's really funny is...I read the title to this and before seeing who it was thought that sounds like Les...LOL

Every now and then one of ours kills a snake. A couple of weeks ago Sophie took on a garter snake that was twice as long as her. But none of mine have every actually eaten the snake after killing it. So I guess there is something that dachshunds actually will not eat.

Hmmm, the only thing I have found that Loki will not eat is mustard.  ???

Ack!!!  I'm so happy Porky has't eaten that yet.   :2funny:  Of all the things, he's eaten, he hasn't gone there yet.   I'm sure I've just done it now.
