Title: Introducing Elli Mae Johns
Post by: Delia and girls on May 20, 2009, 11:52:47 AM
I was just going crazy without my little fuzzy faced Ilsa, so we've added Elli to our family. She's an 8 month old wildboar wirehair. Hopefully, her facial hair will grow in. Ilsa was like this at this age. I was told Ilsa had a tight coat and so does Elli. It makes it slow to grow but easier to groom in the future. Anyway, we've had her since Saturday and she's an absolutely wonderful puppy. She came crate trained and sleeps through the night until we get up, in her crate. She's had 2 poops in the house (no pp's) and yesterday evening and this morning she went out all by herself to poop. I think she's got it but time will tell. She respects Gretchen (who is 9, almost 10). She's even gotten her to play a couple of times. It's been so long since we had a puppy, I'd forgotten how active they are. Luckily, she's 8 months old. She plays at warp speed and then sleeps. She's actually very laid back for a puppy. Here is a pic.

Ooops! I'll try again. Sorry Dr Leaky - computers weren't around when I was growing up and I'm a slow learner.

I was waiting for you to post this!! It was killing me LOL! I still can't believe you have a new puppy...she is a DOLL and I'm sure she will fill in, just like Ilsa did. Elli is going to be a stunner and she sounds like a dream puppy, what a good girl and Gretchen has been so good with her too. I didn't know her middle name before I love it...Elli Mae (Clampet?) Johns. I am so happy for you guys. You know Elli has a great guide whispering in her ear, it's no wonder she's such a good puppy.  I'm just trying to figure out how to get to Texas to meet her!

how could you get this gorgeous angel without me knowing!  She´s beautiful and looks exactly like me at that age.
Congratulations from a very besotted, totally love-sick Red in Altea...

P.S. there aren´t enough bearded pretty ladies in this world and it´s rotten she´s so far away.  I have my International Pet Passport though...

What ever way you spell her name she is a stunner, glad to hear big sis is coming around. Gtech might have been lonely to. aS to the RV, sounds like a Thelma and louise without the sad ending Dee and Dee Dee.

DD, Dee, Dave and puppers - come on down!!!! That would be sooooo much fun!

Thanks everyone, for welcoming our Elli. We took our first trip to Home Depot. She was a little scared at first but by the time we left, she had relaxed. Wouldn't you know - the time we wanted people to notice us and ask to pet the pups, we got ignored. I even had treats! If we had only had Gretchen, who can't be petted by strangers, they would have been all over us! Oh well, next time.

I had a feeling the dog-a-pult was a work and Ilsa was searching for someone special to fill your home with joy. It looks like she picked the perfect one to send to you. Elli Mae is beautiful. What fun it must be to fast-forward to eight months old. That is such a great age.
As for the RV, I was already thinking that Dee and Dave could get Dee Dee and they could ride together. If it's big enough, why not add Ruth and Ellie. Afterwards, someone either needs to make a movie or write a book. I'm sure there would be enough adventures for one!

Oh, Delia and Ron - Gretchen, too - I am so happy for you!  She is sure a cutie pie.  Wow - she's moved right up to housebreaking 301, huh?   That is wonderful.  Gee, she sure sounds like a Clampett to me!   Beverly, Hills, that is.

Delia!  Congratulations on the new member of the family!  I'm so happy to hear you have another sweet puppy...and Ellie Mae is just beautiful!

Dee, if you're road-tripping to Texas in your RV, can you make sure to stop by Missouri on the way?   Scooter would be over the moon to see Hallie again.  He says he'll share his favourite blankies and pillows and toys and treats with her, and will be the most charming and adorable doggy host imagineable, and oh, if you want to come too that would be a-okay with him.  As long as you bring ham.

LOL I could rub a ham all over Hallie...poor kids wouldnt' know what to do then. Sensory overload!

I can just see it...20 doxie owners and 37 dachshunds packed into a convoy of RVs heading for Texas. Bow Wow on wheels!  :thumb:

Noel, I thought about you as we were going through St Louis. We went to Rockford, Ill (well, Rosco - right outside of Rockford) to pick Elli up about a week ago. I almost called DD to ask her you phone # but we hit rush hour (both ways) and OMG - you guys have rush hour - especially when you don't know your way around.  Here's a picture of her in St Louis.

I love the picture with the arch in the background! And the last one-Schatzi loves to do that. It's the time she really loves to go limp and feel like she weighs 20lbs instead of 10! If you try to move her she can give you the L@@K real fast!

OMG, is she a cutie!  I love that last picture with Elli asleep on her dad's arm...bet she comes back often!

Ken and I are renting an RV for our 40th anniversary.  Picking it up in Salt Lake and driving north to Idaho and Montana for 11 days.  If you booked in January for anytime during the year, buy 1 week, get the 2nd week free.  This is our first attempt...and since we are flying into SLC, no puppers this trip.

Elli Mae is a doll!
