Hey all,
Finnious is going in for surgery to repair a disk rupture in his neck (C2-C3) today. This is his second neck surgery and third disk surgery. Please send good thoughts for an easy surgery and quick recovery for Conrady's spotty brudder.
Thanks!
Sending you healing and speedy recovery rays and  for your furbaby and you. :ambulance: Let us know how it goes with the surgery.

noooo oh crap Clarese! I can't believe you guys are having to go through this yet again. I am so sorry....yes please do let us know how he does I'll be thinking of him and sending tons of rays. That really sucks.
Rays coming from the City of Strong Shoulders for poor Finn.
Clarese, I can´t believe you´re having to go through this again, poor little fellow - and you. Love and warm rays from Spain to you both and Conrad for tomorrow for a swift surgery and comfortable, perfect recovery. Let us know how things are going afterwards.
Rays to Finnious!
Finnious is out of surgery. Things went well, except for he hemorrhaged through his sinuses during the surgery, making it so that the surgeon was unable to get all of the matter out of the disk space. The surgeon was able to get most of the matter out, and feels that Finnious should be feeling all better. They only had to handle the cord minimally, so they think he will have a good outcome in that respect, as well.
Denise is going to see him tomorrow at lunch, and is hoping to be able to take him home on Friday. Please continue to send good thoughts for quick, complete, and easy healing.
Thank goodness it's over....I have never heard of bleeding out the sinuses. Leave it to Cornbread to be special! I just hate that our sweethearts have to go through this kind of thing. Con is very lucky to have you. Give him a hug when you see him (and Denise too how is Finn?).

How are you guys doing?
We are doing OK, Clarese. I tell ya. Losing that little girl sent me into a black hole I've never experienced. But I'm digging my way out, a day at a time. Ron is doing a little better than me. Gretchen is doing great! She's really liking being an only child.
Good to hear the surgery went well. Poor little guy and poor Denise. I know it's hard to recover a pup when there's 2 people to carry the stress both mentally and physically. Tell them both we're thinking about them.
Absolutely...more rays and good thoughts going to Fin and Denise. Thanks for keeping us posted !!!
:comfort: :comfort:

Actually, (fortunately) Conrad is doing fine (*frantically knocking on wood*). It is Finnious who decided that he had to catch up with his brudder in the "look how many surgeries I can have" department. I think Finnious had the same bleeding issue when he had his first neck surgery.
Here's something funny, though: Finnious has almost never been seen with both eyes closed. We used to put him and Conrad into Sherpas that we strapped into the back seat when we took them for long rides (even when we drove from San Francisco to WA to visit you, DD). Whenever one of us turned around to check on the boys, Finn would always be staring back at us through the mesh. When Denise was talking to the surgeon, he said "He's still really doped up. I think he's slee... Oh, never mind, no he isn't... He's staring at me." Silly ween.
Didn't see this until lately (obviously). Glad to hear that Finn made it through surgery. Sending rays for a quick recovery.
Update: Finnious is AMAZING!!!
The surgeon called Denise this morning and told her "As soon as I opened Finnious' cage, he jumped up on me." He will be going home this afternoon. Thank again you for your thoughts.
:hello2: :headbang: :hello2: :headbang: WHAT FANTASTIC NEWS!!!! More rays and prayers on their way  :comfort:  :comfort:

Woo Hoo! That is amazing news!! :headbang:
I'm so glad Finnious is doing so well. :apls: Sorry to hear he had to go through all this again. Poor little guy.
YAY!!!!!!! What a trooper!
Glad to hear Finnious came through with flying colors. Sending rays for a continued speedy recovery.
Wow! TUFF dachsie dawg! Glad Finn is doing so well.
Geeeez Clarese I can't believe I did that...freudian slip? I had cornbread on the brain! It was Finn!!??! Those brudders...how many surgeries has Con had then? I can't believe those beautiful happy youngsters that were sproinging thru the grass in my back yard have been thru so much...it really does seem like yesterday. I will always remember Diane saying how handsome the boys were and she never says that about anyones dogs! Please keep us posted on him and how Denise is doing too.
Sorry I am seeing this late - poor Robbie has an impacted anal with a drain, and I have been busy dealing with that, state achievement tests, and remembering to give Robinton his medication and doing the compresses and "flossing" so he can heal up fast. We are so glad Finnious is recouperating nicely - closed eyes or not! Hugs to all of you!
Thanks, everyone. Finn went home last evening, and Denise reports that he is doing well (though, when he whines - a regular thing for him - he sounds like he has a sore throat).

It doesn't seem like that was over eight years ago, does it DD? Conrad has had three surgeries - all lumbar - to Finns three surgeries - one lumbar, two cervical - since then. They are now even = game over!
definitely time to call over&out on their ops. rotten both of them have been through 3 each already - and so young too. Glad to hear Finny is home and although complaining (he has EVERY right to!) is doing well with Denise. Take care, we´ll be rooting for you all.
This was a quick post, glada to hear he is on the mend...............hugs to all
Roberta
Game over is right! You've all been through plenty enough. Things come in threes...they've both had their three.
I just can't believe it's been 8 years either...I didn't even have Hallie yet. It's hard to remember life without Hallie in it. Strange how time flies. Please keep us posted on Finn!!!
I'm glad everything went well!!!
Finn went home on Thursday and is doing great! Aside from sounding like he has a frog in his throat when he whines, Denise says that he is really returning to his old self. I am truly amazed by how quickly this dog heals. He has acted like it was nothing to have disk surgery after each one. Even after his one lumbar surgery, before which his hind legs were paralized, he walked out of his cage the day after the surgery. He is such a strong little guy! Added to the fact that his surgeon is absolutely amazing and that he has so many friends sending healing thoughts to him... He is one lucky pupster :)
It is wonderful to hear that Finnious is doing so well.
I agree these boys need to end this contest now as a tie. No more surgery !!!!!
Sending HHHHH's & PPPPP's for the boy and his mom.
Merion & the ZZ's
I'm just now seeing this! Maybe that's a good thing since I get to know the outcome at the same time as the problem. I started reading this and thought of how Cajsa acted with her surgery, although it wasn't in her neck. So glad to hear Finnious is doing so well and that he is improving!
