We haven't been on this board too much because MaMa has been dealing with some health problems , she thought things were getting under control and then this week she found out she has breast cancer. She knows in her head that she'll be ok but she sure is hugging me a lot.

Oh no Ruth I am so sorry to hear this! Health things can just hit you out of the blue and you are blindsided. My cousin is another one who beat this 7 years clear now and hers was aggressive they said. I just HATE the C word it hits anybody at any time they sure do need a cure for this. Hang in there I'll be praying hard for you too please keep us posted on how you are doing! Keep hugging Miss Ellie.

We have a lot of ads on tv and radio about "I pink for ...", so we definitely pink for you, Ruth. I have a cousin I am pinking for, as well. I keep hearing about a potential cure - at least for the past several weeks, so it is fairly new. I am pinking all the way! :female:

We're on your pink team too Ruth! This d*** thing can happen to any one of us at any time. My cousin got it 7 years ago (she was 39 at the time) at that age they say it's usually genetic but no one on either side of her family ever had it. So no one is immune. (she is doing great 7 years later by the way, no recurrance and it was an aggressive one). Please keep us posted on how you are doing I've been thinking of you.

Ellie, you do look like a princess in your pink harness. What a wonderful way to Go Pink for your mamma! I love it!!
I friend and I went to an Arts and Crafts Fair today. One woman had a beautiful collection of earrings called "Wildflowers" Each pair was unique and inspired by the wildflowers of Montana. We spent a long time at the booth, trying to pick out just one pair. The artist heard me say something about wanting a PINK pair..... and from our conversation realized why I wanted PINK. Finally I chose one pair .... not the PINK. When I went to pay for them she GAVE the PINK ones to me ! I stood there and cried .... (picture added)
What a nice lady! There always seems to be some really uplifting moments like this when we are going through our worst times. Gives you a little faith. The earrings are beautiful! I'm thinking of you a lot and will be sending extra rays and prayers on Wednesday. Keep your chin up you will get through this.

VERY nice of the lady that gave you the pink earrings. Nice to know there are still people like that around. And as for Ellie and her pink attire - you go girl! I just love that scruffy face, no matter what you're wearing!
I think it is wonderful that she gave you the earrings. This is one disease that has touched so many lives and brings so many people together. It also allows people to bestow acts of kindness upon others. I'm glad we have reached a time where we aren't afraid to talk about it. By talking about it, your support system continues to grow.
I'll be praying for you on Wednesday and will have those who are working with me wear some pink that day.

Sorry I missed the ALL CLEAR post from Ruth until today !!! That is simply Awesome news ! :comfort:
48 hours post op and I just took a nice hot shower. Oh little things make me HAPPY !
I have had some discomfort ... but not really any pain. They got all the cancer and tested only two lymph nodes and the there was no cancer there so they didn't have to take any more. Thanks, God. I think the plan is radiation (5 days a week for 6 weeks) and then Tamoxifen . Ruth
WOO HOO - hot showers are awesome !!! Just let Ellie girl take care of you and REST !!!! Radiation will be draining.....but we will celebrate when that is finished ! So glad you seem to be doing very good !!! :comfort:

Oh Ruth, I am so glad this part is over, now to get through the treatment and you will be sailin'! Get your life back...I know these things can make your world stop but you will get back to a "normal". Tests the strength of the human spirit. Glad you got that hot shower!!!

MaMa had her 16th radiation treatment today ..... "almost" half over. She looks half baked too ..... as if she was only half topless sunbathing .... and not even half the fun either. eLlIe
I'm glad you're almost half done!! I love the picture of your grandson. (so cute!!!) Hopefully, the rest of your treatment flys by and you never have to do it again!! :pray:
