Title: Sunday our time-Amy
Post by: Roberta on March 21, 2009, 09:22:30 PM
They said they would ring 7am and we heard nothing we thought they must have just progressed and they would let us know when it was over. Then  we had a call from Charles (surgeon) at 830am to say she was walking well and he did not advocate surgery. We are to keep her crated (cage round her bed) for two weeks. But if we were at all worried to bring her straight back in. He is going away on Fri for 3 weeks but he has a surgeon coming in from the states to cover while he is away. Helen and Bob (we saw last night) the senior vets say the other surgeon is good on par with Charles. So we have our complaining child back again.
Sofor the next few days we are taking her back to spend the day there, I was meant to finnish work on the 7th o April, but I am telling them its next wednesday. We decided that its only two weeks earlier and she is more important at the moment. They say she is not out of the woods yet but it looks as if she just over did it yesterday.
She is in her bed in the family room so she can see me with ut me having to move her all the time, but is still complaining.
We want to say thanks for the thoughts and prayers

Ok, Amy - this sounds much better!  We are counting on you to take things easy and not worry your mum and dad by overdoing and overexerting!  (And don't tell Oliver anything to cause him to get you overexcited, either!)

Oh my yes I am relieved too, this is much better than surgery. It is good to be able to picture her back home, home in an x pen is much better than at the vet! Miss Amy this time no getting excited not good for you or your Mum when Hallie was crated I was a nervous wreck that someone would come to the door and get her worked up, I hung a string with a "wet paint" sign across the front porch! And told all my friends to please not stop by. So we feel for you, this is all very good news though hugs to Amy and her patient brother!

I'm so glad she has avoided surgery. I think she might have known you were about to be home with her all the time and got a little impatient. Decided to speed things up a little bit! She just didn't realize she would have you at home, but be fenced in when you were there.
When do you have to be moved out of your house? Can you give Amy some type of sedative during the packing/moving process to keep her calmed down a little? She is bound to get excited with so much going on. What doxie doesn't want to check out all the interesting people??

Amy, you just complain and grump to your hearts content.  As long as you are starting to feel better, that's the important thing.  More dachsie rays coming to our wee Amy.
