Title: A Touch of Spring...
Post by: Teresa on March 11, 2009, 03:42:09 PM
We had a beautiful weekend and I wanted to play with my new camera. I took a couple of pictures of the flowers in bloom. I also took a ton of pictures of a co-workers kids. I thought everyone would love this one of her daughter and their Shih-tzu. They were waiting on their dad to come out with goodies for them!

I love the flowers.  The curls on your co-worker's daughter are the cutest.  Made me think of Shirley Temple!

Oh, lucky you.  You have daffies in bloom.  Mine are up, but no flowers yet.  Love the pictures.  Thanks for sharing.

Yes, the daffodils have been here awhile and even survived the snow. They are started to fade away. My tulips should be blooming in a week or two. If it weren't going to be so cold this weekend, it would probably be another week, but I have a feeling it will be at least two now. I have a few that I can see where the blooms are now. I can't wait. I love tulips and this is the first year I've planted any. Not many, but just one is enough for me to get excited about.

I just purchased a Nikon D60. I was able to find it in a package that included the regular 18-55mm lens and the zoom 55-200mm lens. It is extremely user friendly and will take some wonderful shots on the auto setting, but can also be set on a manual setting for me to make the changes I want to make (when I learn HOW to make them!). I'm very pleased with it and can't wait to take it to the beach in a few weeks.

Great pics Teresa. It's so nice to see spring flowers. The little girl and dog is adorable. Congrats on the new camera! It looks like you have it mastered fine already. I wish we lived close enough to go out shooting together! All our subjects though would be a couple of wiener dogs and a bulldog.

We would still have fun and could come up with some fun picture combinations. I'm amazed at how much I'm drawn to nature and wildlife photography. More than I ever thought I would be. That is why I can't wait to go to the beach and take some pictures. I've done sunrise pictures there before, but there are some marsh areas that have some beautiful sunset scenes. One person that is going with me does a lot of photography. She just purchased a 200-500mm lens, so she will have a blast!
