Gosh, it's (almost) as good as building my own new house.  Do you anticipate being in before January?  Are there doors on now to keep any moose or bears or wolves out?

We hope to be in by Christmas, but when we asked our builder, he just smiled, he wouldn't commit, too many variables.  But the project is sure going well.  We don't have any doors yet.  And there is too much activity and torn up ground for the moose to venture near.  We don't have to worry about bear or wolves, although we have seen little red foxes in the past.

Oh Patty, your new home is just beautiful!!!!!  I am so very happy for you and Dan and the rest of your crew.  I cannot believe how quickly it's going.  Builders around here that forever to finish even the smallest project.  Plus all the inspectors are slower than slow.  Keep the pictures coming.

Max wants to know if there will be smoked salmon too.  If so, he says he will be there!

Brekke says she loves a) Max
and  b) salmon, but she's not too sure about Alaska, because her daddy doesn't move too fast when it's cold!! (And to think he has property in Canada!)

Max says if he and Brekke both go to Alaska to see Auntie Patty, he will share the smoked salmon with her.  He also wants to know if Brekke will help him stay warm, since she has that long beautiful hair.

The inside of the house is going to be painted a white or eggshell (there are so many shades of white!) and there will be laminate flooring (vintage maple) and a looks-like-rock tile in the entry, laundry/mud room and around the woodstove.  And the three big 24" glu-lam beams overhead.  The kitchen cabinets are maple.  Haven't decided on a countertop yet, but all the appliances will be white.  We have colorful saddle blankets and American Indian wall hangings that we will decorate with.  We'll have to see what evolves when we get over there.
