Title: Tooth Fairy is coming to visit
Post by: Mike on February 26, 2009, 08:09:44 PM
Now it's Clifford's turn (again) for a visit from the tooth fairy.  I took him to the vet tonight to have his mouth checked.  He has another back molar with an abcess, so tomorrow he'll take a little nap and wake up with a quarter under his pillow.  A few rays for him wouldn't be turned away.

Rays on the way from Iowa. Clifford should hold out for some soft food (eggies?) after his adventure.

Rays to Clifford do not think a quarter is the going rate for a Dashie scrambled eggs may be better not sure if they would stay too long under a pillow though.Dashie nose would find them quick.

Rays on the way for a quick recovery.  Hope there is a soft treat under the pillow rather than a quarter.

Clifford came through the yanking.  The molar was very abcessed and the bad root went up into his nasal passage.  In order to remove the other 2 roots of the tooth, Dr Schaeffer had to remove some of his jaw bone.  Consequently he will be on pain meds and antibiotic for a week.  Clifford is in quite a bit of pain and I'm sure it will be a restless night for both of us.  Clifford is sure that a fairy of elephantine proportions has sat on his head instead of leaving a quarter.   So far green beans and yogurt have been the food of the evening.

Thanks for the rays, please keep some headed our way.

you might ask your vet if a product called Virbac home dental health CET Aqua Dent you add it to the dogs water might help cut down on the bacteria in Clifford's mouth after his mouth has healed. It is suppose to help with dental health in dogs it also freshens breath. Just a thought figure Clifford can use all the help he can get. I got behind on Patches teeth with my finger messed up so have been adding it to their water seems to help. now mean momma started back brushing Patches teeth again they do not look bad at all.You add one teaspoon to their water bowl change the water every 24 hours so the bottle of 16 oz last a long time.More Rays to Clifford hope his pain med's are working well for him sounds very painful.Hugs to all.
