I had two minor out patient surgeries on Friday the 7th. :bandaid: :ambulance: I had a septoplasty (to fix my extremely deviated septum) and a bunion removed from my left foot. I decided to get them both done at the same time to get the pain over in one fell swoop. I am trying to catch up with the board. Rays and prayers go out to all that need them. My gang sure enjoyed having mommy home for a little over a week. Gabbe decided it was her job to protect my foot and would lay with her head draped over my ankle and then growl at any of the other three if they came near my foot. She is a good little nurse. They all got frustrated with me cause I would not allow them to give me kisses on my nose. I didn't think puppy slobber would help my nose out any. Any way, I hope everyone is doing well.
Oh you poor thing....that's a lot to have done at one time! My son had to have surgery for his deviated septum and it was just dreadful! Did they have to splint it? I'm sending lots of rays and prayers that you will be feeling better soon!
Yes, they put plastic splints in on both sides. I can't believe that people have this and worse, nose jobs where they remove tissue and break the bones, for vanity. This was bad enough as it was. I am happy however, that I can now breathe through the right side of my nose for the first time in many, many years.
Auntie Nikki, can we lick your nose? Mommy and us hooligans hope your sniffer is working better real soon. And bunion surgery to boot. Boy howdy. )))))))))))))))))))
Goodness! Sending rays for a speedy recovery! That's a lot to go through at once. Thankfully you have the perfect little foot nurse to help out! I'm sure all of your gang is enjoying havig mom home though. Just sit and cuddle with them and get better!
Dang Nikki - thats a lot at one time....but better to be done with it !!! I love the picture of your nurse taking care of mommy !!! Take care of you !
I had sinus surgery about six years ago and it was horrible. I had completely blocked sinuses and had to have it and they took out little bones and membranes. I can't imagine going through anything like that for vanity, either. Schnitzel is protecting my broken ankle....somethings too strongly, though. She hasn't left my side since my accident and although I love her, I need a little space to fling my leg.....rest up!
Take it easy Nikki and get well soon!
Roger had sinus and septum sugery a few years ago. They found a cyst had completely blocked one of his sinuses, his septum was deviated and they removed a bunch of polyps from the other sinuses. He said he just did not have any energy to do anything but sleep and watch TV for a week. He did feel a lot better when the splints came out. It was worth it - he is actually able to breathe through his nose.
Get well soon!!!
I agree with Roger, it felt much better when the splints came out. I haven't been able to breathe thru the right side of my nose for years and it really feels odd to feel air going up and moving thru my right sinus. I was luck, no polyps or anything thing but a badly deviated septum. I felt lousy the first week too.
