Title: Solomon Went To The Bridge Today
Post by: sollysmom on January 23, 2009, 04:38:50 PM
I had to let Solly go today.  When I got home tonight he was just laying on his pillow.  So I took him to the vet's.  The vet told me that while he was on the table Sol had siezed three times.  He tried to help him by putting him on oxygen and giving him some drugs, but he just wasn't responding like he had hoped.  He figured he must of had at least a couple of siezures at home today.  He said that if Solly made it through the night, he would have brain damage.  How much is anyone's guess.  So I made the decision to go ahead and help Solly cross over.  I miss my boy so much, I can't explain it in words.  But I know everyone here understands completely.  Here are a few of my favorite pics of my boy.

Darcel, I am so sorry to hear about Solly.  My heart aches and my eyes are misting.   It's so hard to make decisions as what you had to make today.  Solly will always be in your heart and know that he is watching over you.  Solly is pain free, playing and running at the Rainbow Bridge with all of our angels that have left us for the Rainbow Bridge.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Hugs to you.

God-Speed, Solomon-Angel.

Oh no - I am so sorry.  I can't even imagine how lost you feel.  You did what a loving mommy could do for your baby.  Sending you hugs - we are here for you.  Godspeed sweet Solomon.

Oh Darcel, I am so sorry for your loss.  You did the most loving thing you could for him by letting him go.  He had a good life and was well loved.  Noiw he is running and playing with the others at the Bridge.  Hugs to you.

Oh no!  Darcel, I'm sooo sorry!  What sad sad news.  Solly was a much loved furkid and I know you already miss him terribly and he will be missed around here for sure.  Please accept my deepest sympathy.  All I can say is, "I'm sorry." and "I'm so sad."

There are no words to help right now. Just know how many of us have felt the pain of such a loss and how many of us hold you in our thoughts and prayers. My little herd at the bridge is making a new friend.

Sorry I did not reply to this earlier. Friday was the day of Ted's tragic accident. I can now say, that I understand how hard this is. You think maybe they are going to pull through and it will all be OK. But they don't and nothing is OK. You know the responsible thing to do is to let them go, and you have to do right by them. Neither Ted nor Solly are in pain, but you and I sure are! Remember to hold the good memories of Solly close to your heart!

Sharing you grief,

Janet

Darcel, I am so sorry for your loss. These wonderful little creatures are only loaned to us for a very short time and they leave such big holes in our hearts. You did what was best for Solly. That's what he needed from you. He was a beautiful little boy!

Oh, my - I feel your pain.  We all feel for anyone who loses a beloved dachsie (or other furkid), and it is like losing one of your own.  He has been met at the Bridge by many a dachsie from here, who will surely show Solomon how things are run.  Have you read the children's book, "Dog Heaven" by Cynthia Rylant?  My class room kiddos have recently had some puppy and older dog losses, and the thought of God tossing out kitty and squirrel shaped dog biscuits, or watching the dogs from behind a tree, brought a smile to a few faces...

Oh, Darcel! :comfort:

Guinness and I are both brokenhearted.  Sol was such a great friend and a great host when we visited.

We're happy about Hilde, but Sol Da Man will live in our hearts forever.  He'll have already met Roscoe-Angel at the bridge.

Call when you get a chance.  Any evening is good, except Friday.

Love you - Karen
