Title: Cleo kitty seizures.
Post by: Marcia from MI on January 22, 2009, 05:00:55 PM
Cleo kitty hasn't had a seizure for a couple of months now, but the last couple of days I had a feeling she was due for one.  Well, this afternoon she crawled into  my lap while we were watching TV and I picked up a cellophane bag which crinkled and immediately sent her into a seizure.  It startled poor Eddie so much that he didn't know what to think.  He stayed away while I held her until it was over and she was OK.  Dr Cindy says its her age, she's going to be 17 next month and usually cats start to go down hill at that age.  But she's really never been sick except when another cat attacked her or the time  she got into the bag of cat food while I was at work and drank a ton of water after wards.
She was a rescue cat that didn't meow until I had had her 6 months and then she jumped into my lap and started to talk - she hasn't left my lap or stopped talking since.

Eddie here - When we still had Sully Angel Cleo kitty would raid the cookie jar and score us iced oatmeal cookie, that is until mom caught her in the act and then she blamed it on Sully and me.

Marcia again - she really did give them cookies.  She would take them out of the bag and push them off the table.  And when she was caught she was like - who me.

That is so scary when they have seizures.  I hope that she won't have anymore now for a long long time.   My sister's cat Patches suffers with seizures periodically, so I know how frightening it is.  We'll keep Cleo in our thoughts and prayers.     And you and Eddie too, of course.    :comfort:
