And driving me
Everything appears normal, but I am still following the two hours out/two hours in crate routine. She tried to pull me down the hill last night for our walkies and the little S*** DID jump up on the couch lickety split one time last night, but on the whole, being good about "No Jump".
Our vet follow-up is next Saturday, and she will also get her toenails chopped and her anal glands expressed to minimize the time in and out of the car. I guess I should update her Bordetella, too, should she need to go in overnight anytime soon. ACK!
Julia S. and I were chatting last and I wondered aloud if her disc Degeneration might be the result of a trauma. She suffered a really bad fall two years ago when she landed on her back on concrete. Does anyone know if the vet can tell if said disc is damaged due to genetics or trauma?
Thats encouraging that she is doing better - I feel your pain in trying to keep her calm - it is a HARD job ! Not sure if the doc can tell if her problems are due to injury - but this may have aggrevated it. Please keep us posted - rays still coming!
I always wondered too if a previous trauma can lead to back problems later, and never was able to get an answer. I suspect that it might contribute if they are prone to begin with but don't know that for sure. I think it's the daily things that do a lot more damage, allowing jumping on furniture, stairs, playing rough, overweight, no daily exercise, etc.
I'm so glad to hear she's feeling better. Don't let her talk you into letting her out too much, she still needs to heal. They can go backwards so easily. I think it's a good idea to get her bordetella BUT she isn't going to need it for a vet stay because she's going to only get BETTER!!!!
I hath proclaimed it. :thumb:
I'm glad Loki is getting back to form. Good luck with retraining her not to jump.
It's great to hear that she is doing better. It is so difficult to keep them from doing things they shouldn't be doing!
Keep up the good work and soon she will be back to 100%!
