With all the snow that we had....which thank goodness is now melting.....this is the quilt that I started. The top is finished and I just have to do the batting and back plus binding.....Thought I'd share what I have done so far.....no doxies checking it out.....they're off napping in the sun.

Oh Dee, I just love it! It's so beautiful. How long did it take and is that all hand sewn?
Annie
That is one beautiful quilt! Did you have to cut out all of the flower petals?
Beautiful!!! You did a great job on your quilt. Do you take orders?

Cutting the material took me about 5 hours but not cutting solid for that time -- that is a total accumulation. I was cutting strips and squares. For sewing, I have spent about three afternoons working on it and a morning. I have used the sewing machine to stitch the pieces together. I will hand quilt the top after I piece the batting and backing to the top.
I already have the material for the next quilt that I'll be making. It will be a different pattern. I also have the pattern that I want to use to make a king size quilt covering for our bed. I don't have the material for that one yet.
Thanks for the compliment, Annie.

No, I didn't cut out all of the flower petals. The fabric I used had the flowers on it and I just cut my square around them.

I used to make quilts all the time as a kid -- helped my mom and grandma. But then with working, I drifted away from them. Now being retired, I have the time that I can devote to working on quilts. I have this one almost done and have material for a second one (different pattern) and then have a pattern for a king size quilt but haven't chosen the material yet. Do I take orders??? Well, not at this point but it may be something that I will consider in the future.

Thank you for the compliment. I have a few to complete -- have material for the next one, different pattern and then I have a pattern for a king size quilt, no fabric yet. Do I take orders.......not right now but may consider it in the future....

Thanks, Roberta! It has been fun doing this one. First time, I've done miterd corners and I love them! When I finish it, I'll get a picture of the boys on it. I'm sure they will take it over when I piece it together because I'll do that on the floor. I have the fabric with a different pattern for the next one. And, I found a pattern to do a king size quilt for our bed. Haven't gotten the fabric yet.

Beautiful work! I have no such talent and just soak up others with the gift. Fabulous, Dee.

ps looking at my last post I think I should start wearing my glasses on the computer!
Totally beautiful, Dee! I love flowers, so the earth tones are really different.
Question, quilters: Have any of you ever made a quilt from old jeans? I keep thinking that the different shades of blue (and possibly other jean colors which are likely broadcloth) would make a gorgeous quilt in 6" squares...
